I'd pick the TARDIS. Granted, it may not be the best "weapon" but the war would be over in 45 minutes. Or an hour and a half if the producers are feeling generous. And we'd (preferably) get David Tennant back as the Doctor. Who wouldn't want that?

The death star. What war?
What planet, for that matter.
As awesome as it would be, I don't think the Death Star would be very practical in a present day war. After all, you can't exactly blow up this planet as it's the only one we've got.
Oh, I can't?
Dying doesn't bother me much.
You'd be on the station anyway, wouldn't you? Just live there, take a... farm, or something. Grow your own bread :D

I was gonna say the Death Star as well, but...

I think dotTech from Stone (a sci-fi novel by Adam Roberts, fantastic read) would be infinitely useful. For those who don't know, dotTech is nanotechnology, and it's essentially sentient nanobots that live in the blood stream of a human and repair/'upgrade' the body. For example, it can heal all wounds - even decapitation, ingeniously - and solves any problem it's faced with. It can also directly morph and change the physiology and anatomy of the creature it inhabits, giving anything from longer hair to extra limbs or heads, and much more than I couldn never list here. For obvious reasons, that would be useful in a modern war.

I'd use the Fork of Horripulation to destroy the ewoks on the far moon of Endor.
Why waste all your magicka though?

I personally would probably get myself a nice platoon of Spartan III's to use to help destroy most infantry that attack us.
That, or I would get Liberty Prime, complete with anti-communist propaganda :D

The Archimedes II Orbital Super-Weapon from Fallout: New Vegas, and Euclid's C-Finder so we could actually fire it.

Well considering I'm still on a Tron high after seeing Tron: Legacy the other day, I'd have to say just aqbout anything from the Tron universe. Prefferably Lightcycles or Lightjets tho, since a real Lightjet battle would be amazing to behold.

Emperor class battle titan. Because its a fucking titan, Its feet are huge fortress's and it can destroy planets. And a plasma blast-gun, also from 40k.
You are not thinking big enough. A Retribution class Battleship, capable of reducing a continent to slag from orbit is a better option.

But if you want to seize land instead of destroying it a Battlebarge full of Space Marines would do.

The first thing I thought of was the medi-gun from TF2 but maybe that isn't sci-fi so...

A femtobot system from Alastair Reynolds' "Pushing Ice". That would be awesome.

The Skins from Peter F Hamilton's Fallen Dragon would be a fairly devastating weapon/suit to have and somewhat plausible. But if I had the ability for anything I would have to go with Power Cosmic from marvel, pretty much endgame there.

1, Give every single one of your infantrymen a WH40k Bolter.
2, Send 'em out.
3, ????
4, Profit.

The fully upgraded Normandy 2 from Mass Effect 2 would be an amazing ship to have on your side during a war. Stealth capabilities, powerful cannons, and EDI would give you a huge advantage in any battle.
Respectfully disagree, if you wanna win a war with that thing you do it from the sidelines, sneakyshit style, avoid full on battles.
Send that thing in a full scale war and it wouldn't last long.

Let's say there's a war going on in present day, to spice it up you've been given a choice to add weapons/vehicles/technologies from Sci-Fi. Simply, what would you add?

I'd pick Starship Troopers from the book for mobility/agility/speed, tactical superiority and strength, plus the Baneblade from Warhammer 40,000. How many cannons did it have again? 50?
I'd pick a baneblade too! (Only 11 weapons)
Hmmm I'd add battlemechs from the Mechwarrior series, Madcat ftw!

Nothing beats the MAKO from ME, it's bad stearing makes every one else fall to the ground loling, as they fall down to the ground the mako gently drives over them :)

Hmm... space-based ion cannon from the old C&C games? Or maybe the various titans and destroyers from Guild Wars. While yes, uncontrollable, they are demons of fire and magma. Who can DESTROY YOU in moments. by looking at you/calling down a rain of fire from the sky/stepping on you/ stabbing you in the face/ all at the same time
