Potty McMoutherson. OK, the language doesn't really bother me, but regardless of context, fatigue, and/or idiot stagehand, there is no excuse to go off like that. I did like how many times Bale assaulted the guy's professionalism during his on-set tantrum. That really satisfied my sense of irony.

they should of recorded it, could of made a powerful scene

but on a serious note, being an actor doesnt give him any right to start screaming at people, infact, being someone that some people idolize he should be setting an example

I know its a typo but wouldn't it be awesome if there were lightning guys at the set. like lightning wranglers or guys made of lightning.

edit: I meant to quote this post

Sounds like one of the lightning guys was acting as an extra and being a bit of a tool, and Bale wasn't best impressed.

Sounds fair enough to me.

Damn, I guess I can understand the reason for Bale's yelling, but I guess that light technician had a hell of a day...

I wonder how many of you realize how completely pointless this is...all of you attempting to analyze a situation you have no concept of. I'll bet none of you have been on a professional set, you don't understand the mechanics, politics and working structure of a professional set, and can only try to compare an incomplete audio stream to "that one time your boss yelled at you for burning the hamburger at Burger King." Even if I am wrong and you are Martin Scorsese, you certainly can't ascertain exactly what was going on, and you certainly can never know the full context. I am neither defending nor attacking Bale on this one, I just think you guys have better things to be doing than forming half-assed self-righteous opinions about things you don't know about and can never affect.
This is a forum.

And I am currently IN the film industry, and I know what a DP is required to do. They decide what gets shown on camera, (that doesn't necessarily mean they physically operate the camera, and in fact normally they don't.) but everybody knows that you don't walk into a shot during filming. And furthermore, as a DP, you should ideally be present and participating in the shooting of any scenes. So the fact that he disrupted a scene multiple times as a DP on a film of this caliber is quite shocking really.

And let's be honest here... it takes a certain type of person to want to become an actor (Usually quite vain and narcissistic, although not always.) and it shouldn't be too surprising that he freaked. He was totally right about the DP being clueless, but he definitely could've gotten his point across without all the cussing and shouting.

Working on a set is incredibly tiring as well.

Bale is money. He was amazing in American Psycho, The Prestige (best movie in recent history) and Batman. The guy who walked into his frame was asking for it.

Yep. Then it could have been in the bonus DVD disk. That alone would have made it worth the money.

If you think The Prestige is the best movie in recent history, do you find it better than The Dark Knight?

Absolutely way better than the Dark Knight. The thematic depth of The Prestige, combined with stellar acting all around (except for Scarlett Johannson's horrible performance), makes it way better than the Dark Knight.

I'm one of the group who believe the Dark Knight got way too much praise because one of the headliners of the movie happened to die before it hit theatres. There's nothing Hollywood likes more than to be seen mourning and weeping for one of their own, and the Dark Knight was the perfect excuse.

The Dark Knight's a good movie, but falls far short of The Prestige's greatness.

"Are you watching closely?"

I know thats not addressed to me, but if he does then he's not the only one. While I think The Prestige is overambitious, trying to tackle too many themes I still prefer it to DK.

All of you people QQing about how he treated the technician, or those who are raging about people too stupid to understand how highly strung he was, read this and shut up.
