Transformers: The Movie (1984)

The death of Optimus Prime.

"One shall stand and one shall fall."

Actually, both of them fell. But you know. The music when the heart (?) monitor flat lines is tragedy incarnate.
He died for your sins, y'know.

OT: The death of Mufasa. I just rewind the movie after he dies, then he's alive again and everything's okay...

Lot of good choices here so I'll go with one I haven't seen anyone mention.

This is the ending scene from Sanjuro. It's a little slow at first but watch the whole thing. Trust me.

Yes! Go Supernatural.

I'm personally going for Katsumoto in The Last Samurai.

Perfect... They are all... Perfect...

Pretty much all deaths in Equilibrium, if for nothing else then pure symbology. Seriously, shooting someone through a book of poetry while in a church and the two men hold the rank of cleric? What Do You Mean It's Not Symbolic?

Castor Troy at the end of Face/Off. Having switched faces with his FBI Agent foe he starts carving the face up so it can't be changed back, his FBI Agent foe kicks him in the nuts so he releases the trigger mechanism on a harpoon gun which then impales him through the chest.

Johnny Wong at the end of Hard Boiled, just for sheer badass display on Tequila's part.

Any of the death's in Hero

'You can go and meet Kali...IN HELL!' And of course the original just shooting him.

'Diplomatic Immunity'
*BANG*
'Has just been revoked.' Again, all of the deaths in that series rocked heavy.

For cathertic optential, Lucky Number S7evin

'Put the Bunny back in the box'

And I'm done. Man there are some awesome deaths out there. And anyone who can get all of the references well.. I'll give you props, and nerd-cred.

Sean Connery's character dying in The Untouchables.

I'm sure everyone has seen some manner of parody on this scene, or at least the opera played behind it. It's an unbelievable scene.

Tom Hanks dieing Saving Private Ryan was pretty sad.

Samuel getting eaten by a giant shark was pretty epic.
