I searched this and the closest thing I got was made back in September of '08.

Simple topic, what are some classic PS1 games.

I'll go with: Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy (7, 8, 9), Spyro, Crash Bandicoot, Metal Gear Solid.

What are some others? Which one is your favourite? Just to add a spin to it: has a sequel or remake of it been made on a more recent console? If so, did you enjoy it, or did it disappoint?

Oh ya, I guess I should say: My favourite is Final Fantasy 8 (please don't hate me), and no sequal has been made. I don't know whether or not I want a remake to happen. It would be nice to see it in better graphics (although the graphics are pretty amazing for 1999), but I don't know if it would lose whatever it had that made me love it in the first place.

I think this should generate some discussion. My work is done here.

Star Wars Jedi Power Battles.

But seriously, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 is one of my favorite games ever.

Oh, I completely forgot about the Tony Hawk games and Xenogears (I guess the 3 Xenosaga games count as sequels, and they were okay).

Twisted Metal 2 was brilliant.
Others in no particular order:
Chrono Cross (I assume you meant that in your opening post, but I'll just say it anyway)
King's Field 2
Ghost in the Shell
Motor Toon Grand Prix
Tekken 3
Wild Arms 1 & 2
Warhawk
Castlevania: SotN
Jet Moto 2
Oddworld
Point Blank
Spyro
Tenchu 2

These are some of the biggest essentials to a gamer's diet. If you have not played them, they are mostly worthy... though a few of them wouldn't hold up too well by today's standards.

Chrono Trigger, Chrono Cross is the sequel(also on PS1) even if they are tied with extremely loose paper strings.

Dragon Zero

Castlevania Symphony of the Night is the only PS1 game that I'll still come back to every opportunity I can. So many great memories are held in that disc.

Yeah in my opinion they shouldn't have bothered trying to connect the two. I actually played cross first (long story with many reasons) but anyways, I ended up loving trigger so much more, it was like a backwards, time-warp evolution thing.

OT though, my favorite PS1 games were FF9, Legend of Dragoon, Tekken 3 (the best of the series), coolboarder, Tony Hawk 2, Need for speed: Hot Persuit

My friends always go on about how great that game was but I never got to play it, sadly.

How did I forget Twisted Metal 2. My cousins and I had so much fun with that back in the day lol.

Twisted Metal: Black was good (if only for the creepy stories), but I tried to play Twisted Metal: Head On with my cousins and it just wasn't the same.

Xcom for PS1. Not originally a PS1 but good still. It had it's own cheesy polygon cut scenes too.
I'd considered mentioning that one too, but I always thought of it more as a PC game. When I got my Playstation way back in the day, Xcom and the hardly used Playstation mouse were among the very first things I got for it (Resident Evil and Street Fighter Alpha being the other two)
