but I'd love a conclusion to the force unleashed.

I mean seriously FU2 finishes with the rebels having captured Darth Vader, Starkiller not knowing if he's a clone or the actual Galen Marek!
The plot of Force Unleashed 2 has all the signs of being a sequel to a strong, standalone game that leaves room for a third entry (following in the footsteps of Pirates of the Caribbean and The Matrix) but damn it if it doesn't bug me if it never gets resolved (they seem to have moved on to 1313 for the moment so who knows).

Also supposedly the darkside ending is canon as far as explaining the truth about Starkiller up until the point of the choice so at least there you get an answer I guess.

This. Also, Prince of Persia(2008). I personally hold every gamer who bitched about it being too easy for this game not getting a sequel and an ending. I will hunt you down and show you how much worse not being able to die can be. *crazy eyes*
I believe it had some DLC released that resolved the ending.

OT: My Name is Earl. Dammit, why did it get cancelled?

Wow, I thought no one was going to bring that up. It wasn't my favorite show or anything, but I liked it.

I want to see a ending to RPG world [http://rpgworldcomic.com/]. I don't even remember if it was all that good of a comic, its been awhile. Still, I hate it when a show or game I spent time on just gets unresolved. Its almost as bad as it having a bad ending, but at least with no ending I can come up with my own.

XIII.
A less-than-AAA cel-shaded FPS based on an unfinished obscure belgian comic. What in the hell possessed them to LITERALLY end it with "To Be Continued" when it was pretty much obvious from the get-go that it would never be continued?

The gameplay itself wasn't amazing, but what with its story, style, and good variation of levels, there was definitely something unique and loveable about the game.
It'll never happen, but I'd seriously love a sequel.

No one's said it yet? PSI-OPS! That game had the best physics for telekinesis. It was amazing and I played so much of it.
I was going say PSI-OPS as well. It's a really unappreciated game.

I also want a XIII sequel. I really liked the comic book cel shaded style of the game.

Dreamfall: The Longest Journey.

Of the two main characters, one is injured, chucked into a swamp, presumed dead or nearly so, while the other is in a coma.
I had the illogical response of shaking my monitor and yelling "You can't do this to me!" when the credits rolled. So um, yeah, sequel please.

OT: Anachronox. I loved that game but I really want to see what happens.....well, after breafast :)

Dune
and know stupid robot ending doesn't count. that's actually the one thing worse than an unresolved cliffhanger: waiting 20 years and being served shit.

Me too! I know this isn't the most loved of series - but I enjoyed it (the first more than the second). It'd be nice if LucasArts could get their act together and do the concept some justice...

Space Marine continued would be nice
Yes please! Seems like THQ was pretty negative about a sequel, but I thought they had the makings of something pretty cool. C'est la guerre...

Too Human -I want the story to continue, shame it wont ever happen

My Name is Earl- Seriously they drop a few complete bombshells and then it gets cancelled

Heroes- Not really a cliffhanger seeing as we'd come full circle but I'd like to see where the story goes after that "ending". A spin off or something maybe?

to all my knowing they need to resolve the ending of star wars republic commando
Yes.
At least in game form.

Delta squad's ultimate fate has been touched upon in the Republic Commando novels, but now we've come upon another subject:
The Imperial Commando novels. After Order 66, Karen Traviss went on to continue with her setting and characters under Palpatine's new regime. There's only been one novel before parts of the plotline were declared non-canon to make way for the their Clone Wars cartoon.
We're left with a pretty nice cliffhanger at the end of 501st as a segue into the next installment that's never coming [http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Imperial_Commando_2].

Bulletstorm is just goddamn tragic.

Only because it'll never get a sequel :(
It might, my logic goes like this Cliff Bleszinski left Epic and he was the name in Epic how can they make another Gears without him, because they surely want to make another, People Can Fly is is now ownd by Epic Painkiller was a underground hit Bulletstorm itself did also pretty well so Epic my let them do another Bulletstorm to see if they are up to the task of making Gears.

Half-Life 2 episode 2 needs episode 3 or Half-Life 3 or better yet both let them make 3 and give us ep 3 for free, one can dream you know.
Space Marine with the same character and you could end up in the arms of Chaos, that would be nice.

Half-Life 2
Damn, ninjad by the OP.

Well anyways, this, the ending of Episode 2 was such a giant kick in the balls cliffhanger.

Besides that, I want the cliffhanger that is the entire Elder scrolls series to end, seriously they have been building up this giant meta-story and end up making eery next game seem like it will resolve but but they keep finding more ways t o extend it.
We're playing through periods of a continent's history - there's not going to be any grand conclusion to that aspect.

What? Beyond good and evil is a cliffhanger? Ugh- that just sapped a lot of my desire to play it now. Games should never do cliffhangers on fisrst games for an IP- they just can't guarantee they'll be able to finish the story.

Same thing happened to XIII
Ninja'd. Not in the mood to learn French just to read the comics. Plus, it seems all mediums have slightly different stories.

1. Dreamfall, like others have mentioned. Even though the story didn't intrigue me as much as it did most other adventure game fans, I still want to know what the hell happened.
2. Aquaria. While not exactly a cliffhanger, the hidden extended ending left it wide open for a sequel. But since Bit Blot no longer exists, I really doubt it's ever going to happen.

And that's all I can think of right now.

Battlefield: Bad Company 2 left on somewhat of a cliffhanger, with the Russians invading America through Alaska. I'd especially like to see the next game because since the first one took place in Europe, and the second one took place in South America, the next logical step, in my mind, is to have a game in Asia. I think it'd be nice to drive through Chinese rice paddies in a tank, admiring the scenery and getting a better education. And maybe we'd finally learn what happened to the truck full of gold from the frst game, or even the fate of that antagonist who never spoke. And then Sarge can either get killed, or actually retire.

Isn't XIII a french graphic novel though?

So I mean you could go finish the story, sadly just not in awesome cell-shaded first person form.

Edit: Haha, just saw that comment from someone above. Fair enough on the not wanting to learn french.

Except the entire meta-story hidden behind that.

Tamriel is built upon, and kept stable, by magical towers each of which has been destroyed throughout the games becuase the actions of the heroes in those games.

Brass-Tower was destroyed in Daggerfall
Red-tower was disabled in Morrowind
White-Gold tower was disabled in Oblivion
Crytsal-Tower was destroyed off camera during Oblivion
Snow-Tower was disabled sometime during Skyrim

The entire world has been coming apart because the magical forces that hold it up have been destroyed or disabled.

In their quest to save the world from some great evil the heroes of the Elder Scrolls games have been systematically smashing the very pillars that hold up the world itself.

Elder scrolls series lore write Micheal Kirkbride has confirmed this is all leading to something.
