To say nothing short of extraordinary, my favorite shows were always the Swat Kats, The original Jackie Chan adventures, and the cartoon Samurai Jack. I also remember on Nickolodean the real shows of Salute Your Shorts, Pete N' Pete, and Cartoon Cartoon. Sadly, it was a slow and rather steep decline into this stinking pile of poo television presents before us. To further prove my point, I have the old episodes on VHS, showed it to several kids I babysat, and even they asked me why these networks would get rid of such awesome shows. The answer was simple, they weren't popular enough to market outside the television. I suspect soon that we'll see CN Real backpacks, mugs, lunchboxes, action figures, trading cards, season DVDs, and candy bars before the year is out since that is the route they seem to take. It's a world based on the market outside the television now. Trying to make a show based on ratings, is for basic cable only, not for premium.
While on that note, to prove the world is following suit, notice that we need to continue to dumb down, simplify, and redrirect attention for slower people. Everything from Seaseme Street Cookie Monster being sued for causing one kid Diabetes because his mother bought ten packages of Oreos to our current president spending several billion dollars to buy old cars to pour cement into them instead of recycling the metal and repacking it for new cars.
