Looks excellent. Really making it more than just 'more CoD' or even just 'fixing MW2's problems'. Plus, Treyarch are better map designers, in my opinion. I want this in my pants!

I agree completely, but the majority of people got results with those two weapons. I hated them, but they were the hot shit guns cause they were easy to use and very effective.

IW ain't behind this one, it's Treyarch. And they don't tend to mess their products up after it's released. Just before. So if the beta looks like a hit, it probably is.

I wouldn't worry about maps getting vetoed too much. Usually, anyone who dislikes the map enough to veto it just exits the lobby. I've seen maps get vetoed, but it's pretty uncommon in CoD games.

Halo players love to veto, though, for some reason.

Edit: I saw "TI" on the list of equipment and I thought it would be awesome to take the rapper into combat. He could sing you a theme song as you killed people. It would be ridiculous but so very amazing. :D

I guess I'm too used too Far Cry 2's system of "host has final say" and we end up playing Last Bastion over and over again, come on guys lets play Dirty Work or Hacienda I say, "nay" they reply... FINAL DESTINATION.

KillZone 2 also has this problem, Radec Academy is the favoured map not because its any good but because its the quickest to get scores on because spawns are right next to each other, all the top players use it to boost their scores (stat padding).

Aww fuck... that's a major mistake made by me, I meant Activision. I guess that was why had such an easy time typing it.
Well, Let's just wait and see what Activision does to screw this one over.

Yeah some maps can get old but the veto system should allow for some variation, methinks. The maps we've seen so far look pretty good. WaW barely needed a veto feature because all of the maps were varied and laid out smoothly, so expectations are high here.

One thing that makes me sad about this game, though, is that they didn't nerf melee at all. They've replaced handgun + tac knife with throwing knife + tac knife, and both are OHKs.

Anyone who's played their fair share of Battlefield will tell you that melee should be used only on inattentive snipers or someone operating an MG. Melee should be one-hit-kill, but it should be more intense and more specific. Not just running around knifing everyone absorbing bullets to the face. I mean, enemies will literally be touching you and still fire their rifles. :/

Actually I'm a PS3 user, don't like PC gaming now, I used to do it back in the day when GameSpy Arcade and Punkbuster were big but too many exploits now so I dislike it.

Me and my net friends had our own "purist" server called The Global Army which was sweet, no cheaters or hacks until some rich dude bought the warehouse in coppenhagen it was in, I quit when he demanded I change my name from "Satan's Nut Juice" to "Satan" to make the clan sound more bad ass.

Its why I prefer using a PS3 now, exploits get tucked up good straight away and no one demands that I change my name, my PSN friends like my name SushiDiablo, its my "kill you in your face" identity.

Look at me being a narcissist, anyway Far Cry 2 had the option for the host to do almost whatever he likes, to kicking you if you beat him, choosing maps, choosing sides and letting his friend on your side TK you into eternity. I was actually in a match were a guy on my team had minus 376 points.

I like the melee, commando gets my game on, I use it to root out campers, but I understand why people hate it though, here's an idea though.... don't camp and keep your distance.

Same goes with Snipers on Afghan, if you don't camp in the bunker, I wont NoobTube it (and by extension you) to oblivion.

I suppose you're right. Keeping your distance, though, it can be a challenge. Ask ONLYUSEmeBLADE how easy it is to stay away all the time. Hehehe

Personally I'm a run-gun sort of gun, so the rapid-fire melee is just a bit unsettling. Of course, ballistic knife is just plain win, either way. Use it or don't, it improves the game simply by being an option.

I hope they make it so that the closer you get to someone the more damage you/they take and that if someone lunges in front of you with a knife and your still shooting them, they still take damage instead of teleporting in front of me taking no damage despite the fact they ran into my bullets.

To be fair to him he used only melee in all his games and he owned.

I'm also a runner gunner, even with a Sniper Rifle I like to get up close and personal, or Battle Sniping as we call it in KillZone, the MW2 call it "Quick Scoping" because of the ease it can be done with on that game.

I think MW2 users just moan about everything to be honest, the NoobTube is noobie, the knife is too powerful, Quick Scopers are idiots.

What I don't get is the difference between NoobTube and Throwing Knife, both are one hit kills and both have the same physics applied to them, yet one is noobie and the other is pro?

OP: You forgot Lightweight in the Perks list. It's a first-slot perk, as far as i can tell.

The new weapons in the game had me psyched especially the crossbow and ballistic knife.
And then near the end of the first video i saw a mini-gun, hell yes.

Well the general idea is to try and make it that there are no 'most powerful' weapons.

That's what a good game should be like.
But sadly that's never the way it is. There is always at least one weapon that reigns supreme over all the others.

How is that different from any other FPS? Everyone migrates to the "good" guns eventually. By the end of CoD4's life, everyone used either the M16 or the MP5. They were just the best. Anyone who used other shit just died a lot.
That's true enough. But that's not how I play it so I don't like that it works that way. I like to use every weapon as much as I can and most of the time my favorite weapon ends up being pretty lack luster compared to the rest.

I just wish the rest of the community played as I did...

OT: Ok, now I am interested. Without Stopping Power, everything changes. Everybody will be able to mix and match perks without worry about losing direct fire fights against somebody with Stopping Power. Being able to dive out of the way will help a LOT against instant kill explosives.

The most kickass thing? Perks aren't overpowered. Perk 2 used to always have epic powerful boosts. Now they seem pretty average on all three perks.
