Dying from one or two bullets is unrealistic, as opposed to soaking up 10 shots, surviving, sucking your thumb for 5 seconds and being OK again?sean.2k9 said:i don't like hardcore and i don't think it takes more skill as you die with one bullet to your fucking toe its stupid and you die unrealisticly quick, most people who play hardcore search just know the maps, camping spots and spraying spots but i don't think that makes you good it means you play to much
I think the small maps make stealth even more important: you start shooting wildly and give away your location and there's an enemy around the corner ready to kill you.Flour said:I have no experience with CoD5, but in CoD4 the maps were so small that a single player could cover 30%-60% of a map by shooting through walls. The maps where it was harder there would be places where you could hide and cover large areas of the map.ElephantGuts said:Not really because bullet spam just announces your location to every nearby enemy, and will be more effective at getting you killed than getting you kills. I've never seen nor can I imagine someone in a hardcore game spamming bullets everywhere and getting anything more than a quick death.Flour said:And yet, it rewards bullet spam a lot more because even if you miss your target you can still hit and instakill the ones behind your original target. To clarify, with "bullet spam" I mean how most people play online shooters. Spending at least 3 seconds to shoot at an enemy, never aiming properly and only autoreloading.
Agreed with everything you said. Whats really funny is how people insist hardcore takes more "skill" when the average hardcore match turns into a "who can get to the best camp spot first with a p90" game.Flour said:HC doesn't require more skill.
The small amount of weapon balance the game has is ruined, in CoD4 all weapons are equal or have a small benefit but HC favours the 30+ damage weapons and fast firing high-ammo/accuracy weapons.
This also removes the use of about half the perks in the game. In CoD4, only Claymores, Juggernaut, Overkill, UAV jammer, Deep Impact and Sleight of Hand have a real use. The rest is there to look pretty.
The lowered health promotes camping because it's the only guaranteed way to be faster than your enemy.

Dude you're a **** if that what you do, ruin other peoples "fun" just cos you don't like it. Heres a novel idea; DON'T PLAY THE GAMEZenn3k said:Hardcore is a G3 tag fest, and it doesn't require more skill.
Hardcore requires:
A: A very good connection, as often that'll mean the difference between a good and bad K/D
B: Camping. Put on Dead Silence, UAV Jammer, and a Silencer and camp.
C: Seeing your enemy first. Hardcore only requires you see the guy before he sees you, not much more, and certainly not aim
Aim is not required in Hardcore, as a M9 to the foot from half the map away will usually kill in 1 hit. So you see someone, you simply fire in that direction and you'll probably get a kill. It doesn't require you be able to aim and hit your target more than once.
The lack of map I find to be insanely annoying, not because I can't see red dots, but because I can't see green triangles.
My hardcore setup is as follows:
G3
RPG
Sonic Boom
Martyrdom
and I attempt to see how many allies I can kill in one RPG at the start of the round. Its also fun to screw up your teammates kill streaks with a friendly G3 round to back of the head.
I hate hardcore.
Anyone who complains about "needing a clip to kill someone" sucks at the game and cannot aim. I can kill most people with 2-5 bullets fired with an AK-47 (not all of them hitting), it doesn't require less skill unless you can't aim.
Heh i was thinking the same thing.Overlord2702 said:Dude you're a **** if that what you do, ruin other peoples "fun" just cos you don't like it. Heres a novel idea; DON'T PLAY THE GAME
Of course not, but this particular group were utter assholes. Just real bullies. I ended up sending the dude a message saying not to listen to them and that he wasn't a bad player.will1182 said:Not all of us tenth prestiges are D-bags.

Yes you will. It's called regular Team Deathmatch.BrynThomas said:Hardcore mode, never will you find a greater den of campers, spammers and spawn killers.
