Coke could get into the Cell-phone business!
You wouldn't need car-chargers, since you can buy cokes everywhere, and every coke you buy gets you, like, 10 extra minutes (Not a lot, I know, but money has to be made here). I love the idea.
Screw Nokia! Sell that to the Coke company!
This.

And my other question is... will the phone run off tea? Because that would be awesome.
No! The tea is all mine! Mine, I tells ya!

So how long do the enzymes last? Will they biodegrade before a typical battery goes dead?
Eugh...

You've just reminded me I need to do science revision.

OT: How can it be too futuristic if it was made now?
Good question, lol.

This could pontentially start the cola wars again...

COCA COLA vs PEPSI.......FIGHT!
Now thats just silly.
Everyone knows Coke is the best.
Heresy. Coke tastes like battery acid---no surprise it can be used as such. Pepsi's sweeter and tastier.

Its because battery companies have too much of an influence on the government

Stop the pepsi vs coke before it starts,
THEY ARE EXACTLY THE SAME
except coke has better advertisement which is evident by the fact coke is on spell check
while pepsi is not

So this got me thinking. Are companies actually holding back progress instead of helping it?
All the time.

A lot of companies buy up and sit on patents for years and years, other times its just wouldn't be profitable to produce certain tech even though it would greatly improve everyones quality of life.

Think about the cure for AIDS, is there actually any money in it? The citizens of African countries can barely afford simple drugs. No way in hell could the average African AIDS sufferer afford the price of an AIDs cure.

Besides drug companies make enough money treating western sufferers with the huge daily cocktails of drugs they need.

In business you only do something if it will turn a good profit within a reasonable timeframe. They're never interested in the technological progress of humanity.

They aren't evil for doing so, its just that the pursuit of pure profit is the only way they can continue to exist.
Or it could just be that absolutely no one knows how to cure a virus.

I'm tired of people thinking there isn't an AIDS cure because Africa is poor, there isn't an AIDS cure because we don't know how to make one.

Also, that phone looks awesome. This could really catch on because of the whole green movement. But on the flipside it will just further Coca Cola's plan for world domination...oh well
I really have no idea behind the science of the AIDs virus as I lack a background in Virology. All I know is anti-viral drugs exist and from that I assumed that given enough research a cure for AIDs could be found.

If you happen to have a lot more information on the subject I'd be happy to learn the reasons behind the impossibility of a cure.

Anyway I used it more as an example though of how problems only get solved if good profit is to be made by a business.

I still maintain that something as complicated as the AIDs virus if it could be cured would take a lot of R&D money to get to market. Drug companies would then be unable to recoup the costs and make profit of the African AIDs market.

An AIDS virus cure would be expensive, but the main problem is we don't know how to outright cure any virus at all. Anti-viral drugs are not cures unfortunately, they can help but they are not the antibiotics of viruses. We can't cure colds, flus, HIV, or any other virus partially because of the way they replicate (using our own body against us) and we can't kill them like bacteria as they aren't even living things.

Also to clarify that really wasn't an attack against you, it was more on the statement in general because I've heard it a lot and I'm really tired of people hating pharmaceutical companies for that, and I snapped. Mah bad.

Nokia doesn't want to pay coca-cola massive amounts of royalties for the use of their beverage in cell phones.
