The best bit about my horrible 1 year of Uni was meeting some awesome friend in the same corridor as me. Honestly, living on campus will help you feel more at home than you think.
Congratulations! Have some pie and celebrate.LoopyDood said:A few days ago the colleges in Ontario started sending out offers of admission. My preferred course was Computer Engineering Technology at Algonquin College in Ottawa. I just checked the application website. Early acceptance to EVERYTHING I applied to!
I'm probably going to be living with my relatives in Ottawa. That means I won't have to live in what's essentially a hotel room for three years.
But I have the gift of criticism!Heart of Darkness said:Haha, yeah, good luck with that again. Just remember, death is not an excuse for failure to turn in assignments. You will still be failed.Hubilub said:Oh yeah, while it was easy getting in, I'm not so optimistic about surviving.Heart of Darkness said:If you mean International Baccalaureate, good luck with dying. Most stressful years of my life.Hubilub said:I got accepted into the IB. Easiest thing ever.
OT: Congarts. I was accepted last year by all three colleges I applied to. I live on campus in an over-glorified hotel room, but thankfully I can go home for the weekends (I live forty minutes away). And, despite what people are saying, go live with your relatives--it's cheaper that way.
Still, it could be worse. I could be one of those idiotic wannabe teenie boppers from the slum who wear cheap baggy pants and fake bling bling.
For some reason those dumbasses chose "Children and Freetime" as their college course.
That will not get you into the university. It will only get you a job at a pizzeria.
I will laugh at them on the reunion.
And true, but I really don't see that as "worse." Not everyone is suited for university. And university/IB does not imply success. For all you know, you might have the next Walt Disney or Bill Gates (neither of whom actually finished college) in your class, who will laugh at you for eternity instead.
And then they tear you apart with hired muscle. Gifts are only gifts when you know how to use them, otherwise they have the ability to turn into severe pain. Or, in the case of Mozart, into death (granted, lead poisoning had something to do with it, too, but that's not what I'm getting at here).Hubilub said:But I have the gift of criticism!
No matter how successful one gets, no matter how important or popular that person is, I can tear them apart with my words!
Perhaps they have a chance of becoming something, but they could at least pick a real college course. Getting a decent job on high-school grades alone is no easy thing in Sweden.
Damn... Well at least I can sue them afterward.Heart of Darkness said:And then they tear you apart with hired muscle. That's true about anywhere, but it's their life, their choosing. If they want to slack off, fine. They know the risks. Even if they don't, it's something they'll have to live with or fix on their own. To imply that they're doing the minimum amount of work that they're capable of doing is a narrow-minded, illogical fallacy held by "smart" people.
Sue? What do you mean, 'sue?' No one saw anything around here. *places sack of money on the table* Right?Hubilub said:Damn... Although I think it's more "Their life, societies choosing" sometimes. I don't know, it just seems that a lot of youths today follow stereotypes.
Oh well, at least I can brag about that I have a higher post count than them on this site that they have never heard of! That will show them, right?

Hurray! Finally, all those days of neglecting my family and friends have finally payed off!

Probably. That's the subcrowd I fall into, into the subsubcrowd of people who don't like a lot of modern music and play a lot of videogames while being an introvert. See? I'm unique!...Or maybe not. As a T-shirt once said, "You are unique. Just like everyone else."

[british] That has no relevance to the discussion at hand. *activates the Doomsday Device* Now prepare for a world bathed in Twilight!Hubilub said:Joink!Heart of Darkness said:Good, good...*drops the doomsday device; picks it up, drops another sack of money* You didn't see anything, either.Hubilub said:*takes money* I didn't say anythingHeart of Darkness said:snip
