LoopyDood is a pretty hoopy frood.

Congratulations! Now get that degree and be the next Bill Gates...or better yet, the next Sid Meier or Gabe Newell.
That I am.

I'd personally prefer Sid Meier. That way I avoid all the hate Bill Gates gets and all the fat Gabe Newell gets. And I'm considered a genius. ;)

Unfortunately, it's still Computer Engineering.
Now what do you mean by that? :p
Chem Engineering here. For all engineers, joking about other fields is practically a course requirement! In addition to looking down upon all the non-engineers.

;D
Well then, have fun destroying our health! :)

Chem Engineering is just applied Computer Engineering anyways.

I'm soon applying to high school (10th grade to 12th). I'm still nervous over if I get in, but we'll see.
You have to apply to get into high school? Where do you live? Most places in Canada, high school starts at grade nine and you can (have to) go unconditionally.

Congratulations :) I just got an unconditional offer for a Games Technology course at UWE (University of the West of England). I'm really excited :)
Awesome! It would be really awesome to get a game dev job. I can tailor my schedule to be more focused around game dev if I wanted to. I also got accepted to a game dev course at Centennial, where I could go instead. How many years is yours and what's the curriculum like?

I live in Sweden. Here the school system works that when you finish 9th grade, you get to choose what kind of education you want to get, therefore you apply to specific schools with specific programs (science programs, aesthetic programs, social studies program). Then you have to have better grades than the rest applying or you won't get in. You then study that for three years, then you can apply for college/university. So basically from 10th to 12th grade you build the ground for what you want to become. Programs like the Science program lets you get into almost any college/university, while Social Studies and Aesthetics gives less.

I'm looking forward to living on college...but I have no real choice as the college that I'm going to is 250 miles away from home...it'll be a fun little adventure for me I guess...but congrats on getting accepted.

To clarify: The course I'm taking is basically programming. The full title is Computer Engineering Technology - Computing Science.
Hey cool, that's my major too at Texas A&M University.
I start this fall.

What really got me into this were THESE VIDEOS OF AN ENTIRE Computer Science COURSE AT HARVARD UNIVERSITY. [http://www.cs50.net/lectures/].
Really if anyone thinks they might be remotely interested in Computer Science, you should take a look at these videos to get a feel for it.

Ah, cool, I'll have to check them out while I'm at school sometime. Good luck in your schooling!

Oh yeah, I remember hearing out that from another member. Personally, I have the opinion that the decisions that you make and how well you do at that age (14-15) in school should not decide what you're going to be able to do for the rest of your life. What if you don't get in to high school? What then? That age is too young to have to deal with that kind of pressure.

Congrats to you too. I couldn't imagine living somewhere so far away from home. Where is it and what are you taking?

I live in Illinois and am going to Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. I'm going to be studying History, and SIUE is one of two schools that offers a graduate program for that major.
