North Carolina Comic shop to receive unnecessary free publicity. I don't even see why it's a problem, it's realistic, people do take the lord's name in vain when in stressful situations, being shot by a tank is stressful.
Not for superman. For a situation to be stressful for superman i think it requires a deathray. I bet he cant get an erection without a time bomb being around.
The issue essentially establishes that not only is this him at the very start of his career as Superman, but he's much less powerful. He ends up walking away from that fight fairly bruised and beaten up.

But that's kind of beside the point. Morrison isn't the sort of writer who would shy away from simply writing god, or goddamn. And his current portrayal of this young Superman leads me to believe that Superman wouldn't have any problem saying it after getting shot by a tank either. Which leads me to believe this was nothing more than a grunt as he got hit by an exploding tank shell.

So basically, this guy is getting upset over nothing.
Yeah i agree, I havent read the new ones i was just waned to make a joke about Supermans probably odd preferences in bed

If he actaully said God, I could see him having a case

I mean, its his store regardless. he could say fuck, i dont like spiderman, im going to boycott them and not sell them in my shop if he wanted to

BUt at least I can rest in the knowledge that only a very small majority of Christians in the world are that crazy.

I will agree with the guy that Superman should be a role model and shouldn't debase himself using foul language, swears, etc. like other characters might. After all, he's supposed to be the sort of hero that everyone looks up to in that world.

Buuuuuuuut

Complaining about two letters? All I saw was a grunt. I probably would never even have noticed it if not for this guy. And I do agree with some of the other people here. If he has no problem selling more mature and violent comics like "The Boys" and such, then I don't see why he's making a stink of this. Yet the problem is that there is nothing to be upset about, leading me to believe he's just doing it for publicity.
I'm not a native English speaker, but I think GD means "goddamn"... not sure...
And, while I agree that when I think of a superman swear, I think more along the line of "gosh darn" (like another commenter said).
But, still, really silly to be offended by that particular bubble...
You're right. That's what GD usually means. But in this case, it looks like more of a grunt. Comics are not adverse to swearing so I doubt they would start censoring swears in this manner.

BEES! My god.
Pink is nothing but death, and crime, and the rage of a beast!

Ah, the silly things Batman says in his not-so-great appearances.

How did he ever manage to run the shop? Lots of comics have none to friendly to Christan messages or concepts.
