-Electronic Arts. I haven't bought any of their titles since they fucked Flagship Studios over, and forced them to release Hellgate: London way too early.

-Bethesda: Until they're ready to start writing stable programming for platforms other than Xbox 360...fuck them.

-Activision (I do not count Blizzard as part of Activision's evil, but that may change soon).

-Wal-Mart (They fucked one of my friends over big time. They openly lie about their scheduling policy, withhold wages illegally, and treat their workforce like legal slaves)

-Square-Enix (numerous reasons. Chief among them being their willingness to throw their successful/established lore into a blender, add some shit and then serve it back to their audience for profit. They tear through fan-sites to uphold copyrights that they have no interest of ever using again.)

uhm...I guess fast-food chains? I just really don't want to die because of burgers, that'd just be embarrassing.

Game company wise, nothing, really, though there are quite a few devs/publishers I haven't bought a game from in a very long time, but that's really because the games there making don't appeal to me, no grudge against them or anything.

1) None.
There is no point. If I like and want and can afford the product, I'll buy it. I don't give a flying duck who made it as long as it's good.

Supply and demand, as long as there's enough people like me, I'll get what I want!

Err...

Oookay...

Sure, I like Bioware... I like Persona 3 too, though. >_> I mean, almost any JRPG could be significantly improved with the addition of WRPG elements.

I remember Bioware saying something about the JRPG genre stagnating or something, refusing to innovate, and it's true. Look, I play and like the Final Fantasy games, Persona 3, etc, but it's true. The genre is bloated and altogether inferior to the WRPG. It's mostly just a problem in Japan, because their JRPGs are to them what the FPS is to us. You could consider FFXIII to be Japan's Modern Warfare 2.

Comeon people, Zygna. It sets a terrible precedence for a bunch of other casual gaming companies, manipulates people, and generally has bad business practices.
Why is no one else boycotting this?
Yes, Zynga. I'll add them now... it's just that... it's hard to boycott considering they don't really sell anything. >_>;

Activision and Blizzard are the same company. They merged. Activision and Kotick get your money when you buy from Blizzard, and they have a hand in what Blizzard does and releases. This is why Starcraft II is not going to be one game, but three.

Not really. Negative press and the refusal to support a company has, at the very least, damaged the sales of that company.
Really? Do you have some sort of proof of this? Does you and your three buddies really contribute to brining a multi billion dollar corporation down a notch? Probably not.

Tears of Blood said:
It is exactly your attitude that allows these things to continue.
Actually it's called realism, sure it feels nice to feel like you are making some sort of impact, (I would love to)... but you aren't. When have you ever really heard of a successful boycott actually hurting these companies... never, that's because they have contingency plans and enough money and resources to counteract you attempts.[/quote]

Lol, please, you are talking about boycotting some brand name or company. Not stopping ZEE GERMANS from invading. They are not even comparable, and that quote is hardly appropriate for the context.

Technically, it's Vivendi Universal. I have a bone to pick with them too...(thanks for murdering Sierra, Vivendi. Was it necessary to buy them out and then close out all of their IPs? Especially those that didn't cause any sort of Conflict of Interest? Fucking assholes).

And please don't bother with the "One became Three" argument. It's old, and the reasoning is presented objectively. It's not. I can prove it as being primarily subjective; even the mathematical argument doesn't hold up in the context most people use.
More importantly, it's beyond the scope of this topic.

As long as Blizzard's game development process is not being fucked with, I can still support them, though I despise knowing that part of my money goes to Kotick.
But they are on a dangerously short leash after the bullshit they pulled with Bnet 2.0.

I don't boycott. I believe in the simple rule of capitalism: as long as your product is worth buying, it doesn't matter how many puppies you had to disembowel to make it.

What do you mean, you can't boycott Zygna. Just don't use their product. Just because its apparently, "Free," doesn't mean that your only using the free-to-play aspect isn't adding to their coffers. You still act as free advertisement for them, allowing them to find people who would use microtransactions, if you don't cave and do it yourself.
Even "free" things are affected by use (and the lack theirof.)

1. GOOGLE IT. Otherwise, have you never heard of the Boston Tea Party? Maybe the Nestle boycott? How often do you see Nestle products now? I hardly ever see them.

2. It's a process. No, my refusal to buy from a company does not hurt it, but if you spread the word and let people know WHY you do not buy from that company, then you are doing the right thing and it has a chance to succeed as long as everyone plays along. That includes YOU!

3. Okay, it's not quite that evil, but the quote is perfectly legit and works for this situation.

It's the reason that the world sucks right now. It's the attitude that everyone has that what they do doesn't matter. Nobody is willing to stand up for what they believe in, everyone's just willing to stand up for their wallets. If intelligent people were actually dedicated and they cared about what they believed in and were willing to do whatever they can about it, the world would be a better place.

Whoa, calm down. I hate them too, chill. I don't even use FaceBook.

I was just saying they don't hardly sell anything. If I happen to see one of their ads, I can't help that, besides just avoiding FaceBook.

Any company that isn't Korean or have a game that I want. Therefore I buy games that I want. Fuck the developers reputation, I base my purchases on that game. Except for Korean companies. Since they speak for themselves through the quality of their MMO's (or actual games).

Wait, what?

I love Steam too.

You must've not read too closely. Read the thing I posted about GameStop, I actually LIKE them.

Fast Food companies, I guess. But I really wouldn't consider it a boycott because I'm not doing it for any reason other than I don't like them. I'd get into how what you guys do isn't boycotting, but I learned from my agnostic thread that it would be completely pointless.

No body. I don't see the point.

The following is going to make me sound like a Tyler Durden wannabe. I appologise in advance.

I'm so insignificant when it comes to what I buy, as there must be thousands, if not millions of people who will buy stuff from the same company, so me boycotting anything isn't going to make a difference. Based on the people I know, not buying from Apple isn't gonna do any harm to their profits or get them to change their business model. I might as well just be a good sheep-person than refuse to buy something from one company or another.

Activision and I feel comfortable saying that you should all be doing the same. Just listen to any 2 things Kotick has said and it should be clear. That and all the evil things he's done.

Not true.

You can make a difference if you care enough. Not you as one person, but you as part of a collective. Every group of people that does something is made up of individuals. Whether it be an organization or just a bunch of separate people saying "Fuck you!"
