Seriously guys, you're not convincing anyone you actually enjoy sitting through a cartoon about brightly coloured, girly ponies in some random magical kingdom that all sound like 6 year olds..
No, I actually like torturing myself by watching 26 episodes of one show. Are you serious?
Don't you know? We do this to systematically scan ever episode for image macro-material to derail every thread we find. Yeah, we're sitting through 20 minutes of torture for one frame of animation! *irony*

I was probably watching something I'm genuinly interested in, sorry about that.

As for all the amazing things out there in the big wide world to be discovered, why was it a cheap remake of an old childrens cartoon show that took the internet by storm..?

I guess thats what broad-minded, intelligent, grown-up PC owners seem to go for these days eh..

God this planet is doomed for an early death isnt it...

Hey guys! I found one who hasn't seen it but judges it anyway! Who doesn't even seem to know who made it! Isn't that cool?
Did I say I havent seen it? I watched it over the shoulder of my four year-old step daughter the other week.

Ok to put it short and more honestly.

Hey Guys!
I think this rip-off of a cartoon sucks ass and it makes me feel like a pedophile when I'm watching it.
Just thought you should know. Sorry if my opinion upsets your tender little ponie loving hearts but eh, some of us prefer to speak our minds instead of spamming forums with Meme's and avatars as a form of expression.

Found an epic complaint letter generator site guys!
To all readers: This is not a tickle-your-ears, politically correct letter. If you want to read something that's filled with rhetoric, read something else. If you want the truth, then read this letter. Please note that many of the conclusions I'm about to draw are based on cogent and virtually incontrovertible evidence provided by a set of people who have suffered immensely on account of the pony haters. I am absolutely shocked and angered by the pony haters's impertinent, oligophrenic improprieties. Such shameful conduct should never be repeated. It is high time for someone to disentangle people from the snares set by the pony haters and its brethren. Will that someone be you?

But seriously, people who don't like the show, I'm totally fine with that. You think the show is some kiddy show that a bunch of grown men latched onto because it made us feel different (or something like that). But the truth is, we watch it because it is something that we think is genuinely entertaining, and yes, the memes might get out of hand (I contribute to that sometimes), but that is because we find the memes just as funny as the show
also, couldn't help but post this (I hope no one else has yet)

1. People question why people enjoy the show.
2. Fans either try to explain or tell them to watch it and find out.
3. Some of the people who were asking about it become fans, others lose interest in the thread.
4. A small number of non-fans remain, either trolling or just being obnoxious.
5. Fans keep trying to explain what's good about the show.
6. Unlikable people persist.
7. Fans give up and just start posting pony pictures.
8. Eventually the thread dies.
9. New thread is created, go back to 1.

By saying that it's a cheaply animated remake of a show it has (as far as I know) only the name in common, you have said that you haven't seen it. And hey, feeling like a pedophile yourself isn't wrong. But accusing us of lying and practically insulting us, is.

We all 'spoke our minds' on the subject a long time ago. It gets a bit tiresome having to do so over and over when another thread will pop up within the next hour or so and the entire process repeats.

So here's a bullet point summary:
1. The animation is good.
2. The voice work is good.
3. The characters are well written, with none of them being portrayed as perefect (not even the one who's effectively a goddess)
4. It can be funny.
5. Stuff happens that you really wouldn't expect from My Little Pony (Manticores get kicked in the face, a Cockatrice gets stared down, one of them breaks the sound barrier, one briefly goes insane and starts talking to inanimate objects, etc.)

Do you really need a reason to enjoy something?
It's a good show.
Sure people freak out a little, but that's normal.

No, you don't need a reason.

I don't even know if I've posted this picture in this thread yet. There are SO many that are exactly the same now.

Sounds like 90% of the internet in regards to Twilight. Didn't that get loads of hate from this community simply because of the irritating fans?

I never judge something like this without trying it out. I have seen the show and shall keep my opinions about it to myself as they are irrelevant to the point I am making.

Luckily I've seen Twilight and it is is indeed awful. The books are worse.

I don't quite see your point, as I have never said anything about Twilight (if there wasn't a "Sparkle" behind it...yeah, I know). I haven't seen or read it, but I also have never criticized it. One of my friends even likes it (and I'm not able to convince him to watch just one episode of MLP, btw.) So yeah, these people were and are as wrong in judging things and people they don't know as Wondermint is.

As I see it, your avatar is an extension of yourself; it's what we substitute for a face when we read your post. Even just the act of making that an image of My Little Pony - or any direct culture reference, really - is something that strikes me as odd. It's like saying, "The most important element of my personality is my appreciation of this show/character/game/etc." This seems unreasonable to me.
See what you've gone and done there is assume that everyone feels the same way as you do about their avatars. A great many people like to use images that simply make them laugh, or smile, or whatever. As for the memes, meh, memes come from all sorts of places, why not MLP?

Just for the record I'm not hip to all this My Little Pony stuff, never watched it, probably not going to.

EDIT -

Just spotted this...

...Just FYI: The show is made by Lauren Faust, who has worked on Powerpuff Girls and Foster's Home. That should say at least a bit about its quality...
Might have to give it a viddy after all.

Indeed they/it are, but I sincerely doubt that all of the thousands of haters both here and elsewhere have all taken the time to experience itself for themselves before judging.

People will always have knee-jerk reactions to things and over the op fans do not help at all, it makes it more annoying and in your face than it needs to be.

That is not to say that all the fans are bad, I do not see any harm in having the avatars, but the image spam and constant memes become tiring, and that's true for everything. Just look at Portal.

Well my post is rather self explanatory if you take the time to read it.

Twilight hate threads were a dime a dozen last year. Pretty much everyone jumped on the hate bandwagon and I see it as unlikely that all of them had experienced it.

The number one complaint about Twilight? The fans.

My point is that MLP is no different, except that this time the people it seems it is cool to like MLP and so everyone is defending it, and for any fan of MLP who hates Twilight without experiencing it to say that you shouldn't judge the fans, nor the show without experiencing it, well they are being hypocrites.

If people need to stop obsessing over My Little Pony, they need to stop obsessing over Doctor Who, Twilight, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, Broadway musicals, reality TV, and every other entertainment outlet. After all, we're not allowed to be passionate about something we as individuals enjoy, right?

... Right?

I don't see what makes MLP:FIM any less deserving of a fandom than any other show. I mean, if we're having fun, why not? We typically don't bother you, so stop making pony threads and we'll leave you alone.

True enough, but none of those things are the current trend with a thread created about them every five seconds.

Although I admit most of those threads are created by those who "Don't get it" rather than the fans themselves.

I find haters more annoying than fanboys/girls so it doesn't bother me to be honest.

I got that point, but I still don't get what it has to do with my post. I said that he was wrong about judging something he doesn't know. And suddenly you're talking about the fact that this happens all the time (with Twilight being an example) as if I somehow stated that MLP is the first time that happens. What I didn't do.

Again: Judging things you don't know (and their fans) is wrong, whether it be MLP, Twilight, Portal, DnD, football and what have you...

Actually I'm pretty cool with knowing your opinion. For three reasons:

1) I enjoy the show.
2) The opinions of total strangers aren't exactly defining forces in my life.
3) You're entitled to your own opinion, just like I'm entitled to mine.

Sorry if I'm not coming across as too upset bro, but at the end of the day, your frothing hatred for ponies just doesn't bother me that much.

As for the OP: There's really nothing I can add that the other MLP fans / bronies haven't already said. I really, really don't think picking an avatar is some sort of serious attempt to declare your identity. You're looking waaaay too much into things, and should probably just chill out.

Or look at my avatar and assume I think I'm Batman's arch-nemesis, whatever floats your boat. In the meantime, I'll be hangin' with the bronies.
