No, I definitely know that they said the console version of the game will be out several months before the PC version is released. Things may have changed in this time, but last I heard it was not a simultaneous PC/360 release.
Link? I hadn't heard that.

As long as ME2 is good I don't really care who makes it or what platforms it's being released on.

However if EA fucks this up and makes ME2 bad I'll hate them forever...

DON'T FUCK UP, EA!

Mass Effect 2 better be great. I just hope that they fix all the glitches and texture pop-ins. Can't wait!

SWEET! Mass Effect 2 on the PS3! I know EA did not say "PS3" specifically. but it does not take a rocket scientist to figure it out. Now if only that rumor that Mass Effect 1 was getting ported to the PS3 is true.
but is it worth the money

i'll probaly get it if

it has Trophies

solid mulitplayer

and is fun
NO MULTIPLAYER! EVER!

RPG and multiplayer don't go well together...

I'm sorry for being behind on the times, but WHEN did EA buy BioWare?!
Shortly before Mass effect came out.

Mainly EA has just been going on about what Bioware's gonna do before Bioware is ready to reveal it.

Developers keep saying stuff like this to make their product seem better.
Remember Fallout 3 and the million different endings? Yeah.
I feel like the difference between the two is that Bethesda is more of a mainstream game company, where Bioware can't break any promises cause if they do, more people will turn on them.

AS for the PS3 port of MS2, the difference between Mass Effect and Condemed was that COndemed was released a year before the PS3.

Also Bioware explicitly said in the Mass effect forums that the game wasn't going onto the PS3.

And for that matter, who really cares if it goes over? So the PS3 owners will get a great title on that console, that's a good thing to me, then some of my friends can finnally play it, but I feel they should port the first game before they port the second since MS1 is ALL exposition for MS2 and MS3.

How do you explain Pokemon?
I can't really.
It's one of those things that becomes popular for no apparent reason, like World of Warcraft, or uhm...

...religion.

Rights are a much more complicated issue than you're making them out to be.
Can you cite precedent for a companies IP being published by an unrelated company?
http://www.videogamer.com/news/06-08-2008-9020.html[/quote]

You do realize that the James Bond IP makes this so complicated, right? This and the fact that I'm pretty sure Rare didn't have the James Bond license back then, but Nintendo (their then-parent company!) did. Now the license holder of the James Bond IP changed a few times since the release, with EA and Activision being in Nintendo's place - and seeing that bringing "GoldenEye" to XBL or WiiWare would technically constitute a new release, Rare (or Microsoft, who are now their parent company) would violate the rights of whoever now holds the exclusive license to publish Bond Games.

Mass Effect, conversely, is an original IP by Bioware/EA.

Just like you said Rare didn't have the James Bond license and still made the game, it's possible that BioWare didn't have the entire Mass Effect license when it made Mass Effect--it's possible that Microsoft has some kind of rights in the license, like "Microsoft cannot make Mass Effect games with any publisher without BioWare's consent, and BioWare cannot make Mass Effect games for any platform without Microsoft's consent."

Until we know *why* Mass Effect was exclusive to the Xbox and PC, none of us know anything about the situation.
I'm not saying we can know precisely why ME didn't come to the PS3, and thus make any assumptions on what will happen with ME 2.

But I can say with absolute certainty that MS does have no rights on the Mass Effect franchise and thus didn't license it to Bioware, but the other way round:

MASS EFFECT © 2003-2008 EA International (Studio and Publishing) Ltd. Mass Effect, the Mass Effect logo, BioWare, the BioWare logo and the BioWare hands logo are either registered trademarks or trademarks of EA International (Studio and Publishing) Ltd. in the United States and other countries.
Please also keep in mind that Bioware never was a subsidiary of Microsoft, they only licensed it to MS to PUBLISH the game on the 360.

Now compare that to the copyright license of Quantum of Solace, the current James Bond game:

Quantum Of Solace © 2008 Danjaq, LLC, United Artists Corporation, Columbia Pictures Industries, Inc. 007 TM and related James Bond Trademarks © 1962-2008 Danjaq, LLC and United Artists Corporation. All Rights Reserved. 007 TM and related James Bond Trademarks are trademarks of Danjaq, LLC licensed by EON Productions Limited.
This is what it reads like when an IP is licensed to a second party.

Now back to possible reasons why Mass Effect was released for 360 and PC only. You can rule out copyright reasons, as you can see above.

So, let's wrap things up: I agree, we can't say whether or not ME 2 will come for the PS3, if there will be a simulatenous release for 360 and PC and so on. I merely wanted to point out why copyrights are not the reason. And that's one thing we CAN say with absolute certainty.

Religions tend to have some very good marketing. When a man is walking around curing lepers, calming the seas and feeding the hungry masses, you tend to pay attention to what he's extolling the virtues of.

I'm not talking about the success of Pokemon, I mean the game itself. The thing is at its heart an RPG, yet the multiplayer it offers was at the time really good.

Besides, Pokemon became popular for having 150 distinctly varied enemy types, each of which was obtainable and useable.
151 enemy types and I don't mean Mew!
