The fact that there are so Christians in the Republican party makes me want to vote for Obama sometimes.
Only sometimes though.
You mean you even consider voting for Mccain?
You unamerican fuck.
That's another (small) reason I won't be voting for Obama. Look at his fanbase...

The thing that scares me the most about these freaks is they honestly believe in these lies so much.
Not necessarily. There's a certain kind of knowing deception underlying a lot of it [http://slacktivist.typepad.com/slacktivist/2008/09/false-witnesses.html]...

People say shit because they want it to be true rather than because they think it is.

As a Straussian neoconservative, I find everything a site like Conservapedia stands for to be alternatively appalling, terrifying, and depressing.
May I ask what exactly a Straussian neoconservative is?
Someone who is influenced by the philosophies of Leo Strauss.

Although, I suppose I'd be Post-Straussian since I reject much of how he and other conservatives apply his philosophies into the real world.
Despite it having little to no relevance to my political situation, I'm intrigued and wish to know more in detail.

As a confirmed libertarian populist right winger, I find Conservapedia to be useless at best.

Honestly, they could be using their time for something more productive, and PLEASE don't use the terms American and Christian like they are conjoined at the hip.
That's what happens when your political process gets all nostalgic for the Puritans because of grossly-slanted history lessons. There's a reason the Empire tried to get rid of 'em, y'know, and it wasn't heathen idolatry either. (Hint: is it religious persecution if you're trying to stop a religious minority from persecuting other religious minorities? Hint 2: why do you think the US Constitution got all hot and bothered about forbidding the establishment of a state religion?)

I half expect Palin to endorse the return of the stocks and tarring-and-feathering, given the race-to-the-bottom aspect of modern conservative election rhetoric. (I pine for the days when "conservative" meant "not picking on the little guy", instead of "demanding universal conformity with one interpretation of the New Testament".)

Yes me too, because I don't really know who Leo Strauss is. I've never been very attracted to political philosophers.

http://www.conservapedia.com/Debate:Should_people_genetically_engineer_a_cure_for_homosexuality%3F

This page disgusted me significantly, yet despite this they aren't to bright on the whole genetics theory and somehow keep talking about Eugenics:

http://www.conservapedia.com/Genetic_engineering

The Lenski Dialogues gave me a laugh, I don't have any background in Microbiology but even I knew that proteins don't just magically appear, and that any scientific paper about original research includes the data within it to justify itself.

I'm also surprised that 4chaners haven't attacked the site yet...

I've been to that site before but I can hardly browse it for more than a few minutes without being disgusted. I am a very open minded person, but watching the close minded act like idiots is like watching a deluded puppy walk towards it's death. It's just to hard for me.

Amazing ... this debate link, I'm not surprised there are morons there espousing fundamentalist (and fundamentally flawed) views, but I'm quite surprised by the (comparatively) low numbers of said.
