Anything by Mel Brooks

Young Frankenstein, Dumb and Dumber, Naked Gun, Dracula Dead and Loving it, The Mask and Evolution are some of my favourite genuinely hilarious films...

Dammit, ninja'd for Mel Brooks in general and Young Frankenstein. Try Airplane! as well, and a lot of movies with Bill Murray are pretty good. There's also the movie Clue, I found it hilarious.

Shaolin Soccer.

An amazing Chinese comedy poking fun at martial arts movies. Absolutely hilarious.

Don't forget it takes the piss out of football as well. That's a plus in its favour, don'tcha think? For a martial arts comedy, it has really high production value as well, definitely worth the watch.

OT: Kelly's Heroes was the first one that came to mind. Worth it if only for Donald Sutherland's performance (he spent almost the entire of the filming duration high... effectively). Just how often does one get to see a hippy tank commander?

I think a valid summary to entice people would be Dragonball Z + Football(Soccer for my American buddies)
