I should probably get around to establishing some of these. My character would certainly admire Emile, what with the military background and the impressive career, they might be friends. He would probably look up to, but be a little intimidated by Arcanists character. Especially as Alistair is his de facto boss. However, he'd strive to be on good terms with him as they work together and knows Alistair is key to achieving his goals in the Admiralty.ThreeWords said:It's nice to be back, and nice to be remembered. Glad to see you're still around, Doc.Doc Gnosis said:I'd be interested in establishing pre-existing relations, though I'm not sure what he'd think of Katherine.ThreeWords said:If anyone is interested in being pre-existing friendships/enemies, bear in mind that Katherine is something like Lawful Neutral: she believes in stability and the power of the state, instead of trivial things like morality or personal gain. She would rather be second in command of a powerful, enduring organisation than take over at the cost of weakening the position. On the other hand she doesn't care for "doing the right thing", and she has no problem with assassinations and kidnapping to maintain the power of Acherus and the Council as it's ruling force.
BTW, Welcome back ThreeWords!!![]()
As for pre-existing relations, the limiting factor is that we haven't put any politics in our sheets, nor personalities. Though maybe these things are for the best; iunner motives tend to be important in subterfuge...
How abut distant mutual respect?NinjaDeathSlap said:I think her and Emile certainly have common ground. However, much like Katherine, sitting on the throne himself isn't Emile's primary objective. He'd much rather throw his weight behind an ambitious candidate who's willing to essentially give him anything he wants in exchange for the support he can provide, so I think how they would get on would depend on whether or not they backed the same horse.ThreeWords said:snip
As for his relationship with Katherine I think Vayon would be very wary of her, mostly because of what she deals in as the power if the Imperial Spy Network cannot be truly expressed on paper. Vayon can read lists of ships under control of the Empire and get an idea of the Navy's power but he cannot get an idea of the size and scope of the agents at Katherine's command. There'd be respect for what she does but a lot of caution because of how subtly powerful she is.
