I CLIMB OUT of the RIVER, the rock I held on to falling into it as I do so. That was close! +1 CONFIDENCE

I am standing in my soaking wet clothes at the BRIDGE IN THE WOODS. There is a ROAD running across it, and a town nearby. In the distance I can see a large HILL where I know there is a CAMPSITE.
On the floor there is a DEAD WOLF underneath a FALLEN BRANCH, with my KNIFE beside it.
I can hear WOLVES in the distance, I can't tell if their getting nearer or further. Either way I should get to safety of some sort. +1 PARANOIA
I can continue TOWARDS THE HILL or go LEFT or RIGHT along the ROAD.

I pick up the KNIFE and FALLEN BRANCH and head towards the HILL.
I reach the base of the HILL, there are 2 paths going up it. The RIGHT one appears to go to the CAMPSITE. The LEFT, who knows?
All I can think about is how wet, cold, tired and hungry I am right now...

I go along the path to the RIGHT, up the hill to a CLEARING. There is a crashed, burning HELICOPTER and no obvious signs of life around. There are some TREE STUMPS towards the edge of the clearing and the PATH continues to the RIGHT.

I carve my name in the TREE STUMP. Mindless vandalism has never been so fun!
I move over to the HELICOPTER. It's burning away nicely, I think I see the PILOT still in there, are they still alive? There also appear to be CRATES of who knows what in the back, some have fallen out in the crash. At least this fire's warming me up and drying my clothes.

"Hello? Are you dead?" I yell to the PILOT. No reply. He could be dead. He could just be unconscious. I turn my attention to the CRATES. A preliminary inspection proves them to be heavy and locked.

I attempt to get close to the pilot's body but the flames are too hot to get within arm's reach! There's a small explosion as the flames hit something, presumably the petrol tank. -1 HEALTH
I retreat to a safer distance with a CRATE until the FLAMES die out or I can put them out with something.

I can't help shake the nagging feeling that I may have now murdered the PILOT.

Unfortunately I'm going to have to pause this for a few days. I'm out most of tomorrow, but should manage an evening update and I'm out on Wednesday to see Slayer, though morning updates should be possible, and then off on Thursday too.

I throw the CRATE onto the FLAMES. It doesn't put them out, but it begins to burn. I hope whatever's inside isn't flammable...

I'm standing in a CLEARING. There is a crashed, burning HELICOPTER in the centre. The flames are beginning to die down There are some TREE STUMPS towards the edge of the clearing, one has my name carved into it. The PATH continues to the RIGHT.
I could WAIT for the flames to die down or LEAVE and continue along the PATH.
