...You're joking right? If a naked man was chewing on someone's face and didn't seem the least bit fazed by the first shot, I'd put him down too.
Who are you to decide whether he should die or not?

Bahaha I could tell it was someone from Europe before I even looked at the profile.
How stereotypical.
God I hope if someone is chewing another persons face off you never are the one to come across it.
So the stereotypical European do not want policemen shooting crazy people? Well I'm ok with that. And I must say, I am not against policemen wearing and using their guns, I'm just saying that he could have stopped him in a different way, like shooting him in the legs. But given the circumstance, I guess he freaked out. I would've.
Non lethal shots are hollywood bull you either shoot to kill or you dont.
Simple as that.
This. I was stabbed in the leg, and it was a fucking miracle it missed the artery running through. And I still lost three pints of blood before I could tend to it.
Besides, rule of thumb for shooting based self defense: Aim for the centre mass. If you hit them in a leg, that's not necessarily going to take all the momentum out of them, and they could still hurt you. Plus if you miss, that bullet could potentially injure an innocent person.
Personally, I think hollow point rounds should be a go-to for self defense. Because they break up in the person and discharge all the kinetic energy, stopping the person more effectively. And it can't go all the way through and hurt someone else. People say hollow points are bad because they cause more internal damage. Yeah, and? I'm shooting the guy. Once I've made the decision to shoot him, his health, or even survival is bottom of my priorities.
