....... what if it turns out it was one of the work experience boys spilling his coke and fried the system
I doubt that, this raises questions about their security too. I have a 360 and not a PS3 and even I'm still planning on using Xbox live time cards from now on. Thankfully the nearest store has tons of them.Ironic Pirate said:Shit, this is a bad time to have a PS3. How much you want to bet Microsoft is absolutely ecstatic about this?
Also, my captcha is telling me to find something called a Doriketa. One can only wonder.
With Sony's track record, half the planet falls under the "disgruntled customer" set...Robot Overlord said:No, I don't... And I'd much rather have it be Microsoft as I just spend 8 years restarting my pc to get that fucking updater to not break. But it's good as it'll show these big companies that they're not invulnerable. I'd love it even more if it was a disgruntled costumer
After all, it's not like anyone could ever make off with the source code for Half-Life 2 or something.Treblaine said:Xbox Live it's plausible but I'm very confident with Steam's security.
Actually, no, they can't. Using the figures from their FY10 statements (which was the year they were making money as opposed to losing money or breaking even), Sony's adjusted operating income (which includes affiliate net income and equity) was a little under 4 billion in USD. This was for ALL of Sony's business and not just the video game division.JDKJ said:This isn't the bankruptcy that the article makes it sound like. It's not just clean up costs. It's total costs. Sony can and will easily weather $24 billion IN TOTAL COSTS. TOTAL COSTS. TOTAL COSTS. TOTAL COSTS. TOTAL COSTS.

To be honest, I was going to buy a PS3 to go with my Xbox when I went away to school so I could play games I otherwise could not.erztez said:Well, they DID buy a PS3...CM156 said:I didNathLines said:Anyone else read "Ponemon Institute" as "Pokémon Institute"? Or is this topic too serious for that?
OT: I feel sorry for any PS3 owner at this point. They did nothing to deserve this.
That, in and of itself does not prove mental incapacity, but it does go a long way towards that...
You'd think they wouldn't, but there are ways for the hackers to use that money and to not get caught.Azmael Silverlance said:This has been everywhere! Radio news.....its too huge no hacker/thief will use the credit card information at this point. Thats suicide. but shit will go down.
And if the loss of personal data is in fact confirmed i think consumers may still be able to pull off some legal charges and get some $$$!
