Also, in Fable 2, the Winter Lodge Demon Door.
When the Cottage changed it was a HUUUUUGE WTFBBQ moment.

And I agree with a Sander Cohen statement.
I want Borderlands so bad :(

Hmmm most chilling scene...probrably with the splicer in bioshock where the statues kind of come alive after the lights flciker off and on, Oh or when you just stare at sander cohen as he walks up to his 'masterpiece' consisting of the photo's of all his disciples nicely on display. In terms of the writing, probrably bioshock again i think when its one of the audiologs with someone sobbing going i didn't mean to do it and stuff and what she says is just kinda creepy o.o

The cottage behind the demon door in Fable 2 really freaked me out the first time I ran into it.
"Oh hey, what a pretty little... OH GOD WHAT THE HECK".
>.<

Vault 92 in Fallout 3's also really creepy - especially those violinist diaries where you read how she's slowly degenerating mentally because of the Overseer's white noise mind control experiments (secret purpose of that vault).

Not so much seeing it, for me, as watching that video, looking around at the room and then hearing them.

Yeah, wouldn't have been anywhere near as good without the whole helmet-cam thing going on

Bioshock had plenty of creepy scenes.

As for diaries

Resident Evil 1 for the "// itchy tasty" diary. Which shows the case of a douche who turns into a zombie.

Kudos to the designers in Dead Space. Having watched the 'Downfall' CGI movie, I understand a bit more of what went on on board the ship, but it was still interesting to read it all while playing.

And yeah, the Portal stuff where you get almost to the end and find the broken wall and discover a scene that just goes to prove what you've been suspecting.

Another really creepy moment from Fallout 3 occurs if you have the black widow perk and play as a female character. Nuka-cola challenge, just after accepting the quest her 'boyfriend' appears and challenges you. If you have enough speech and the perk, you can actually offer him a threesome if he gets the cola for you, and he goes 'I know just the place!' and pelts off.

I followed him. The guy went in almost the same direction I came from towards the nuka-cola plant (I found that first) only his path differed from mine by a few degrees.

He got jumped by Radscorpions. Lots of them. He died before I could kill them all. I remember thinking "Shit... that could have been me."

I have yet to go back and try clearing the path ahead of him (and I suppose clearing out the plant as well) in an attempt to see if he actually gets to live and enjoy his threesome...

In Bioshock when you go into the doctor's lab and the guy is mutilating the woman, he was sick.

Just about all the diaries in the vaults in Fallout 3, not to mention the Dunwich building.

Whatever, just wash your hands.
a few of the ones in doom 3 were pretty good, like when they were talking about the teleport tech stuff and one of the test subjects back back clawed up, that was pretty good

I just heard one in borderlands that I thought was quite fucked up, but I can't remember what it was about.

The radio broadcasts from the guy in Resistance 2 there's one radio broadcast in almost all the levels

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=564fGPoZR5I

They get more creepy/depressing as they go on.

Fallout 3. Dunwich Borers. That guy going insane on the holotapes.

AND THEN THERE WAS THAT THING IN THE BASEMENT.

Because, he was lookin' for his dad, like you. And he needed to get something from him, like you. Just like you...
yeah dunwich was wierd/creepy but funny, due to the fact my 11 year old brother was watchin me play when i first got into the building and when something poped out he screamed like a little ***** and i had to pause the game just to laugh my ass off real quick.

The doctors report in Doom 3 is really creepy when he talks about one of his patients that went insane, craving symbols into his arm and cutting his tongue into two halves. Sets you in the perfect mood, great game
