Nobody tried to get a dictionary to help with the disoriented/disorientated problem yet? Well here ya' go:

Adj. 1. disoriented - having lost your bearings; confused as to time or place or personal identity; "I frequently find myself disoriented when I come up out of the subway"; "the anesthetic left her completely disoriented"
lost, confused
unoriented - not having position or goal definitely set or ascertained; "engaged in unoriented study"; "unoriented until she looked at the map"
2. disoriented - socially disoriented; "anomic loners musing over their fate"; "we live in an age of rootless alienated people"
alienated, anomic
unoriented - not having position or goal definitely set or ascertained; "engaged in unoriented study"; "unoriented until she looked at the map"
disorientated; disoriented
adjective confused, lost, unsettled, bewildered, mixed up, perplexed, all at sea I feel dizzy and disoriented.
both from thefreedictionary.com. Seems that either can be used.

"Emo".
Seriously, what does it even mean?
EMOtional?
I also hate the hipster-words like: dawg, daddy-o, lol, lmao, rofl, fail,...
This too.
Isn't 'Disorientated' a word too? I'm pretty sure it is. My Microsoft Word doesn't correct it at any rate.
It is, But that doesn't mean I have to like it

Disorientated is the British-English and therefore original spelling and pronunciation.

Disoriented is an American slur.
[Citation needed]
Does being British count?

Same poster by the way, different account.
No I'm british but I've always used disoriented

the way I see it :

Orientation
when you lose your orientation you are dis-oriented

Disorientated would make sense if the word was:
Orientatation
But I think we can agree that'd just be silly.
If that's the case, what do you say to words like "appreciation", "hallucination" and "dedication"?

Surely if "disorient" is the verb, then it shouldn't be "disorientation" it should be "disoriention", which is clearly wrong.
Language rules can be funny like that,
Though if I had to guess it's pobably got somthing to do with Appreciate, Hallucinate and Dedicate all ending with an E while Disorient does not
That's just a guess though.

Speaking of weired language rules,
Fun Fact:
The word "Item" comes from the Latin word meaning "as well as" and was to be used when making lists or "itemizing" in somewhat the same way as a comma Ie

A horse item
a saddal item
a weeks supply of hay item
a coplete horse grooming kit.

Somtimes langaugre develops in weird ways, particularly our bizzare melting pot.

Edit: since we are on the subject I also hate it when people use "ie." wrong it means "that is" as in "that is to say",
also:

ex.
it isn't ex. it's eg. it's not supposed to be short for example it's supposed to be short for Exemplii Gratia meaning "for the sake of example I know in the grand sceme of things there isn't a big difference but it bugs the hell out of me.

The danish word for honework "Lektier".
It's pronounced something along the lines of "lec-shee-ar", in a horrible lisp way, like Sid the Sloth from Ice Age, and it just ticks me off.
Having such an ugly word for, in my opinion, pointless and boring tasks doesn't help.

"Epic"

I am so sick of that word. It makes me angry just thinking about that word.
I quote:
"The only things that are epic in EXISTENCE are,
Oceans
Massive Stories Involving the Dangerous Journeys of Muscle Men (The Odyssey)
Space."

I hate the following words:

1. Jowls (I'm raping the English language with this word, and it makes me sound like a redneck)
2. Intimate (a word that should never come out of a man's mouth)

Imagine a sentence that uses the word moist. Now imagine your mother or grandmother said it.
O, ooh, *makes a sour face* if mom or granny ever said that, I hope they are referring to cupcakes and brownies. Not something else. *shudders*

Any Internet abbreviations. Even if you use words like LOL, ROFL or whatever in any context, even an ironic joke it's very annoying.

"Nevermind"

Now, before you stare at me weirdly, consider the the reasoning behind it first. This is something that happened in my house alot. They bring up something and when you - or in this case, I - respond in a manner that doesn't suit them, they go "Nevermind". Or something similarly annoying. Well, I don't DO nevermind. You got my attention, so you SPEAK. So, I put the hate on anyone trying to shut me out of something once they've already decided to bother me about it. That's the reason.
My god, tell me about it. This drives me absolutely crazy. Happens to me all the time.
As for words I hate, I think the main offender for me is "fit". As in, "that girl over there is fit". It's so objectifying and usually ends with me wanting to go on a rant about how "that girl" is also my friend, a person and not a sex object.

Times have changed, and addicting is a word too, your the first one to complain.
It may well be a word BUT! it does not mean something that is easy to get addicted to.

If it was a word it would be a transitive verb or to use it in a sentance:

I am currently in the process of addicting my mate to heroin, It's not all that hard since it's highly addictive and soon he'll be well and truely addicted.

Do you see what I am getting at if it is a word you are using it wrong.

your the first one to complain.
I can assure you I'm not, also

That bugs the hell out of me too.
