Deus Ex - some of the worst voice acting in the history of the universe. Seriously bad.

The gun play is somewhat terrible these days as well - is a good thing not shooting shit is a viable and much more fun option.

Without mods it looks terrible as well.

But my god it's still a brilliant game.

This. And Human Revolution's plot breaks down towards the end, as well as the infamous bosses.
Bioshock gets really broken if you pick the right upgrades, thus meaning there's no good reason to kill the LS, which means the whole choice aspect breaks.
FEAR is kinda repetitive and the level design is bland and confusing.
Portal 2 loses steam gameplay-wise in the Cave Johnson stage.

Dark Souls - Laggy areas (Blighttown comes to mind) and laggy controls, broken PvP
Metro 2033 - Ridiculously underpowered/fragile main character (I've had a guy take two shotgun shells to the face and still live)
DXHR - Awful, awful boss fights and endings, the last level was pretty bad too

GTA: San Andreas.

I don't know whether it's a combination of me abusing cheats or because I finished the story missions, the game just lost its lustre for me after I finished it and I started to get bored. Cheats were useful in story missions, however not as much afterwards.

But I will never forget the good times I had and the tear jerking story.

*deep breath*
Call of Duty 4 was a little unbalanced at launch.
Battlefield 2 could have had better draw distance on some maps.
Anno 2070 has a bunch of annoying dipshits for NPCs
Call of Duty 1 had some....... I can't do it.
Medal of Honor: Allied Assault had some poor-looking explosions, even for the time.
Damn, that was hard as hell.

Fate/Stay Night: Type-Moon has no idea how to write hentai scenes. And the characters like to break character to add 'diversity' in said hentai scenes. And Emiya Shirou, why you no use contract-breaker on Alter Saber, you could have not broken my heart by making me do that at the end.

...And for games are less ambiguous at being games: ME3 ending, Assassin's Creed 2 not letting me have the music *and* being notorious, & Dragon Age: Origins; Orzammar. Half the game should not be inside a mountain.

Half Life 2: People often compliment the plot, but really the plot is only very active at the beginning and at the end. In addition the weapons load out is very basic, and it doesn't seem all too unique from anything else other than the Gravity Gun.

The original Deus Ex had fugly graphics (even for the time) and embarrassingly bad AI.
GTA IV couldn't decide whether it wanted to be taken seriously or not.

Dragon Age: Origins is an ugly, ugly, ugly game. It didn't age well the day after it came out. The art design in general is very boring.

Combat is slow--not even slow in an appropriately tactical sense. Slow in a "I can buy a tombstone and personally engrave the epitaph by the time Alistair shuffles over to that hurlock" way.

Orzammar and the Fade are excruciating portions. Long, boring to look at, repetitive enemies...

I'll admit the storyline is pretty cliche. The different Origins are useful roleplaying wise (I legitimately feel differently doing the Landsmeet as a Tabris than I do a Cousland), but otherwise are just sort of gimmicky.

Glad to see some FF8 fans here, thought I was the only one...

Still here goes.

FF8: Junctioning, while very unique and fun, gave the characters no individual combat styles at all. Plus at the end of the game you just junction crazy shit to all your stats and away you go.

ME3: Dialogue feels even more polarised than every before. I mean come on, at least have a neutral choice to give us the illusion that it makes any damn difference. However this is fine because you get chain overload <3.

MW1, 2 and 3: Too short a campaign, despite it kicking arse. And the multiplayers a broken pile of fail from 2 onwards.

Terraria: Hard mode gets futile if you play solo. Outside of tricks there's like no way to kill any of the hardmode bosses solo aside from the wyvern.

Amnesia: Why can't anyone make any mod campaigns for this game that don't just act like silent hill fanfiction?

Dark Corners of the Earth: Wai you so broketed? Wai?

Front Mission 3: Why have such a linear progression system in regards to mech parts and guns? I know its a JRPG and its basically a gear grind in that regard, but so many of the guns look awful and I like overarm shotguns... Underarm ones look wierd even on a mech.

Mechcommander 2: Losing a pilot you have used for every damn mission cos you walked too close to a fuel depot....

Deus Ex Human Revolution: Other than the exp imbalance in regards to mercy kills over actual kills there is nothing I'd change about this game. Well, maybe better NPC models in towns...

Magic: The Gathering TCG: How is it possible that a game so well designed and so fun can be so frustrating and broken at the same time? I mean come on, part of the 'fun' is finding how to break cards and game mechanics to the point where you create rules anomalies that allow arbitrary loops. Combos are no fun in multiplayer...

I'll just mention one I love, since it's not as obvious, because I am having trouble deciding which game is my favorite.

Deadly Premonition

It looks and plays like a PS2 game. The main protagonist has the personality of a wet dishcloth, and most of the other characters aren't much better.

That didn't stop me from loving every minute of it.

Ok, I'll do another one.

Condemned gets less tense as it goes on and becomes very unrealistic.
Again though, love it.

...

Alright on more.
Area 51 (PS2/Xbox) has a "sequel" (Blacksite) that could not have possibly lived up to the expectations I had from the first one. Area 51 was awesome. Blacksite was absolute shit.

Risen - The main character looks terrible, and is an obvious clay model of Jason Statham (I said "clay" and it's not as awesome as it sounds).

Timeshift - The weapons do not deliver the same "fuck yeah" effect as those in FEAR series.

FEAR (1) - Too muc- just kidding, it has no flaws.

Here, I'll make a game out of mine, I shall try my best to be critical of it, and you guys can go ahead and guess which game I am describing.

The story is horridly repiticious to the point of obsession.
The gameplay has been recycled over too many years.
The fanbase are overly vocal about their obsession and deny anyone with a different opinion.
The character design has changed little over the years, with only subtle updates here and there.
The game itself cannot decide what genre it belongs to.
The graphics could probably be better.

There you have it, escapists, try your hand at this one. Cookie to the winner.

Vampire: Bloodlines' combat was pathetic, stealth was a joke + was buggy to boot, sadly a rushed release.
Serious Sam 3's story-line was BS, and the difficulty curve is somewhat akin to been carried through tourist + then easy before been thrown into a spike pit on Normal.
Painkiller Black Edition - same story-line issue, especially when it has Zero connection to the game-play.
Dead Island's shooting is a clumsy joke, the characters are like costumes left in puddles and it's far too confident of what a player can easily deal with in terms of horde sizes.
Human Revolution's gun-based boss fights, especially when they managed to make conversation-based boss fights work so well, but that's just nit-picking.

Metro 2033, despite its amazing atmosphere and setting, good voice acting and great story, has its flaws.

The gunplay is rather dodgy, and feels stiff. I like the fact that the high-grade ammunition you use is also the currency in the game, and you have the full choice of whether or not to waste it in a firefight. However, by around the final third of the game you never visit another shop, so all of the Military-grade ammunition only has a purpose in shooting. This felt rather cheap, as I'd decided not to buy a certain gun at the final shop because I thought, "Nah, there will most likely be a better gun at the next one." There is no point in saving your money after about halfway through the game. There's also no way to tell if one gun is better than the other besides eyeballing it, as the guns have no stats to look at, so I ended up just sticking with the AK47 I'd picked up about halfway through.

The Combat Shotgun is a huge steaming pile. The damage on this thing seems so incredibly weak that it isn't even funny to joke at. I made the mistake of picking one of these flaming pieces of fecal matter up around the time I had to make my way through the Library and fight Librarians. Needless to say I learned the layout of the building pretty quickly, mostly because I kept trying to sprint my way through because trying to fight a Librarian with one of those combat shotguns is like trying to fight a rabid Grizzly Bear with a toothpick. And don't even get me started on the Bayonet attachement. It doesn't matter if you can melee with this gun if it'd be easier to simply pick up a different gun in the first place.

The stealth mechanic is absolute garbage, topping off with the silencer attachement to any gun doing seemingly nothing to conceal gunfire from enemy ears. The best part of the stealth would have to be the throwing knives, which when used seem incredibly overpowered compared to what a bullet should be able to accomplish. I've killed a Librarian with five knives to the head before, while it takes multiple clips of ammunition from a regular AR to kill one.

*Nevertheless, the Throwing Knives are my favorite weapon*

I've also come across quite a number of random graphical glitches such as every now and then an NPC will take a step and sink about two feet into the ground before popping back up.

Is that old Bruce Wane from Batman of the future?

Oh yes also, Skyrim has no interesting characters either.

Deadly premonition: I love the game, I love the characters and the story, but the graphics are terrible as are the controls. There was one part where I got stuck into a corner and couldn't get out and I had to reset the console and lost my progress up to that point. Needless to say I wasn't happy.

Deus Ex, the graphics look like they got hit by the ugly supertanker, the stealth is broken, some of the voice acting is the wrost I have ever seen *I spilled my drink*, and half the weapons/augs/skills are pointless.

But dear god it doesn't matter in the least, that game is just pure awesome!
