Portal 1, Half Life 2, Portal 2, Neverwinter Nights 1/2, Dragon Age: Origins, Magicka, Amnesia, ...and most games since 2002 (Dungeon Siege) especially RPG and FPS:
* Background loading! Why isn't this the norm yet! It's fine to bring up a load screen when you need to (like a significant/abrupt area change) but we really don't need to cut things into little 'levels' anymore. IS it really so hard to keep that small shop-room in memory?

and while I'm on that.
Every RTS since Supreme Commander:
* Let me zoom out further.

No Roman I don't want to go fucking bowling (good idea poorly excecuted).

Drive across the city pick up npc, drive across town, pick up a lorry, drive to destination shoot people, jump in car wait for npc to catch up, lose police, take npc home. Fail at any point...

Drive across the city pick up npc...

Valkyria Chronicles, the fact that if a character is ducking behind something as stupid, the fact that characters could only take cover behind sand bags and only a few other trench areas was lame. And at times the game was weak in that anime way.
Also, what's with the enemy being able to shoot at you during your own turn? If all the characters are able to just randomly shoot, what is the point in employing a turn based system? The entire combat thing was interesting but it just kind of felt like it didn't really know what genre to be. I'm also going to take this opportunity to moan about the stupid book where you have to select the "next chapter" every level, damn that really breaks the immersion!
Well thats so you couldn't just run up to them and shoot from point blank range, the tradeoff is when you aim they stop so its not rushed. With no shooting while moving the scouts could just run in with headshots allday and ruin the whole balancing. It works well imo even if its a little wierd.

Mass Effect 2-too linear and not much variety in enemies. Also the fact that the dlc squadmates have 0 dialogue.

Loading times are becoming worse and worse in games lately as you quite rightly say. I know the games are bigger and more detailed now but surely the tech can work around that?

It was most prominant in Portal 2. At least the first game (and also Half life 2) simply paused the last frame, stuck the word "LOADING" up for a few seconds and then off you go, back to the action. I was fine with that. But Portal 2's giant loading screens of nothing were just obtrusive and unnecessary imo.

I fail to see how the most buggy of all games (Fallout New Vegas) can load the entirety of the Wasteland without the need to display loading screens (unless you enter a building) and Portal 2 can't.

Prototype
Stupid. Fucking. Supreme. HUNTERS!

Also:
Too. many. COMBOS! (you try holding x+b or whatever the PS3 equivalent is of that. good. now do it in a split second without messing up whilst 50 enemies are shooting rockets and throwing heavy projectiles at you that break your combo instantly)

Metroid Prime:...........Nope. I still have nothing.

Medal of Honor: Your multiplayer was mediocre and it was painfully obvious that DICE just didn't give a shit.
Your single-player was way the fuck too short (I say that only because, unlike other short games, such as CoD, I actually wanted more). The AI could be better. Other than that, the single-player was great.

Portal 2: In-between the testing areas things could get kind of annoying when all you are supposed to do is find a single square patch of white wall. For example, during one bit in-between the first and second acts, It took me about 10 minutes to figure out that I was supposed jump down the elevator shaft I just came up.
Loading screens can get a tad annoying at times.

Assassin's creed 2&bro. Make things harder damn it. I went through Brotherhood without a single armour upgrade and hardly ever died.
Stop taking control of the camera away from me. I can't count the number of times I've fallen because of that.

You call that guy a fuckin villain? You gotta be shittin me.
He's so atypical, you could paste the classic, evil curleh mustache on him and it wouldn't look outta place. At all.

Half-Life 2: Gordan Freeman is boring, the vehicle sections had poor controls, and much of the innovation that it brought to the table has been overshadowed by newer games.

Oblivion.

I like the level scaling...so I can't insult that...

All your characters have botox, your main quest is absolute ass, frost is useless as fuck, radiant AI is bullshit and results in semi-important trainer NPCs randomly fucking dying, your PS3 version lacks most of the DLC, speechcraft is too fucking easy, loading screens are too frequent, and I have to get off my horse to fight a fucking mudcrab, 1/3 of the birthsigns are useless (The Serpent? REALLY?), the tutorial doesn't really prepare you for the game properly, HORSE ARMOR, and warriors can't even recharge items without using Mysticism magic for Soul Trap.

1) The Legend Of Zelda: Twilight Princess
A little to linear for a Zelda game. Controls are alright, but could be better. Not enough replay value.
2) Super Mario 64:
Kinda short. Button delay can get really annoying when quick platforming is needed.
3) Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days:
Annoying camera angle. Almost impossible to get in a good combo attack.

Half Life 2 - Show don't tell (Gordon Freemen, Just buy somebodies vocal chords already
Half Life 2 Episode 1 - Only really useful as a cheap way to be able to play mods
Half Life 2 Episode 2 - How long does it take to release a game.....
Team Fortress 2 - Could the drop rate on items go up just slightly....

Tales of Symphonia: ANGEL FEATHERS! Stop deciding to be useful at the last second and steal all the kills Colette! It's also really long, so for some people that would be a bad thing, but I actually like that. The voice acting could have been improved slightly too, but for the most part is really good.

Golden Sun: I have absolutely no criticism for Golden Sun... sorry...

Golden Sun: The Lost Age: This on the other hand, I do have criticism for. You're thrown onto a continent in the beginning of the game and they don't really give you much direction as to where to go except for that you need to find a town. There's many towns you can go to though. I thought it was kinda annoying.

-Persona 3&4-
Main Character dies = Game Over in any game where you can have three teammates with revival magic, plus hold onto 99 or two different revival items is a completely idiotic mechanic. Considering that the game is well known for being pretty tough, and having regular enemies capable of completely turning a battle around on you at the drop of a hat, there is no reason for it to be there. The game is already tough, this does not add challenge, it just adds frustration.

Sorta fixed it in 4 with your teammates being able to take single target attacks for you, but then the game forgot that 90% of the enemies in the last third of the game use nothing but AoEs.

Also, #4, the teammates you gave me are totally awesome and I love them, but you did not do character development nearly as well as #3 did. Almost 100% of a character's development beyond obtaining their Persona takes place via optional Social Links (The only exception being Teddie).
This sorta diminishes the impact of a character realizing and fully accepting themselves and what drives them (Rank 10 Social Link), when you realize it has no impact of the story. Unlike 3 where the character's realizations were caused by events of the game, and played out to be an incredibly important part in attempting to fight against an utterly hopeless situation.

-Phantom Brave-
As expected by NIS, your ability to design a character's stats to your liking is absolutely wonderful, even more so considering that every single stat can be used as your damaging stat, and every single weapon can learn virtually any ability and be tailor made to be your ultimate weapon.

Your Speed stat is broken to a stupid degree though.

If a character doesn't have high speed, they are dead weight. Your enemies will either get so many more turns than them that they will always die regardless of how much defense and/or resistance they have. Your faster allies will always kill enemies before them and net exp more exp. You can't even just make a slow, defensive character to block enemies in because of how moving around the battle field works.

They will gain levels slower, and because of how stat growth works, even if they do remain even with everyone else the gap of speed will do nothing but widen and solidify their state as a useless lump.

This also makes maps with high amounts of rock items to confine to incredibly frustrating and equipping non-fused axe weapons to completely screw you over unless the character has Quick Attack and you just want to use them for one initial strike.

Mass Effect 2: loading.... loading.... loading.... also, that goddamn rock search.

Metal Gear Solid 2: Raiden.... fucking Raiden, also the battle against that damn jet.

Metal Gear Solid 3(subsistence): quite possibly one of my 2 all-time favourites(the other being KOTOR, which i will get to in a sec), there is only one thing to criticize: super long cutscenes!

KOTOR:.... Bioware face.

Mafia: that tune that always was playing that got stuck in my head, that and the difficulty was sometimes a bit irritating.

Max Payne 1 & 2:.... eeeeh the dream sequences put me off sometimes... but nothing else

catchpa: musidery literacy
