Battlefield 2 is filled with lag issues and cheaters.

However the huge maps and vehicular warfare make up for it.

Fallout 3 had a terrible ending prior to Broken Steel.
Half Life became worse after the beginning of Xen.
Half Life 2 lacked depth.
Bioshock had a horrific aiming system.
Bioshock 2 didn't have particularly interesting level designs.
Mass Effect didn't have enough character depth.
Mass Effect 2 had poor level design (too many convenient crates and so on).
System Shock 2 lacks re-playability.
Portal ended.
Borderlands had a terrible ending and the characters should have been customisable rather than named.
Team Fortress 2, Left 4 Dead and Left 4 Dead 2 rely on people not to ruin the game.
Halo 3 had a weak story.
KOTOR was about Star Wars (loved the games, not a huge SW fan, this was tongue in cheek).
KOTOR 2 had an anti-climatic ending.

Deus Ex is, uh... Nevermind, I can't criticize it. That game is perfection.
Dated? Pretty much all I can think of so far.

Mount and blade errm. I guess the combat gets pretty grindy during sieges. Hand killing 1600 soldiers on a disassembly line gets pretty boring. Who am i kidding its fucking epic, arrows flying everywhere and the surging advance of the enemy. Buy mount and blade, it has infinite installs and is $12 no need to have the disk to play. ITS SO EPIC. Its oblivion with MASSIVE armies. Youd be mad not to buy it.

In all fairness the games very biased to people trying to found their own kingdom, im fighting every kingdom all at once with collosal armies just to survive. Having your generals argue over silly things like medicine also annoys me, jesus guys we are beating 4 kingdoms similtaniously STOP BICKERING!

I don't really have a favourite so I will go with whatever is sitting in my 360 right now.

Prototype: The NPCs are complete idiots unable to notice that old man can practically fly, Alex is over powered and giving the protagonist amnesia is cheap.

How do you do a 3 heart run? Don't you automatically pick up the extra hearts the boss drops? It's been a while.
No the hearts the bosses drop and all the other heart pieces are optional pickups so you can go through the whole game with only the 3 hearts you start with.Never tried it myself to be honest

Suikoden 2 - silent protagonist (very annoying to me in RPGs) and badly translated. Also, the big battle system is fun, but half the battles are essentially on auto-run, with you having almost no control.

Ok lets see...

HL2 is a great game but when you come down to it, it is just an average shooter.
WC3 is also a great game but to be honest it's just: mass units here, send mass of units the = profit?

This is one of my favorites, not THE favorite, but the easiest one I can think of to criticize.

Deus Ex:

-Animations are horrible, this has always been my biggest complaint with the game.
Just get into a fire fight with a bunch of people and watch them robotically strafe back and fourth
in a completely unnatural manner. This also ties in with making combat a little less... engaging I guess you could say.

-Voice acting quality varies. I've personally never had much of a problem with it - if comes nowheres near the lows of most JRPGS or Anime dubs - but it is not what I would consider high quality.

-Uhhhhh... I can't think of much else at the moment, it has been a few years since I've played it (though I have played it through 4-5 times)

I can't because I'm too biased. The only thing detracting from Freelancer in my opinion is the fact the graphics are 7 years old but I'm sure someone who isn't [HEADING=3]The Freelancer Enthusiast[/HEADING]
could find more faults.

Evil Genius:

The higher your Heat (the measurement of how much countries are looking for you) gets, the alliances send in different types of people to deal with you and your island bases

Investigators look for incriminating things
Buglars steal back money and objects you stole from the world
Saboteurs blow up things in your base
Soldiers attack you base

Soldiers are the problem. They turn up and open fire on everything, and you GET MORE HEAT if anyone fires back! (Even worse - sometimes they blow up themselves by shooting at machinery, which gives YOU heat!) If ANY of them manage to escape the island (which they do, because they kill everything), they RAISE YOUR HEAT, AND MORE SOLDIERS ARE SENT IN

I can understand being penalised for letting your heat get too high, but GETTING HIGHER HEAT for having HIGH HEAT is stupid, and it just escalates forever, and you all die

It drops, but you dont have to pick it up.

OT: Final fantasy 8, ill admit the story is a bit slow to start, But please people, stop ripping on it, look at it as a love story (Like it says on the back of the box) and give it a chance.

Chrono Trigger gets too easy during New Game+. I know you want to be uber powerful in case you want to fight Lavos as soon as possible, but it makes all the other fights boring, repetitive grinds. What were tough bosses on the first play-through can now be taken out simply by whacking them with a weapon a couple times.

My other complaints are exclusive to the DS version's new content. I mean wow, Square seems to have gotten lazy. The dimensional vortexes were made just by taking a bunch of rooms from other dungeons and throwing them in a blender. They do at least have original areas toward the end, and those play fine enough. But the worst area by far is The Lost Sanctum. It's just a bunch of fetch-quests that have you going up and down the same mountain over and over until you begin harboring a deep hatred for all mountains in existence. And I facepalm at the bridge area. They copy and pasted the bridge from Guardia Castle, which would be fine if the environments matched. The Lost Sanctum bridge is supposed to connect a cave over to a tower, but the cave entrance looks mysteriously door-like and carved into the side of another castle...huh. And why is this bridge encompassed in permanent nightfall when it's clearly daytime everywhere else in the Lost Sanctum?

Finally, the new ending. It raises more questions about Chrono Cross then it answers (And the last thing we need is more questions concerning that mindfuck of a story) and it feels more like a sidequest. Alright, so I beat up the Time Devourer, but what about the original Lavos, doesn't that still need to be resolved? Why are the credits rolling when the original threat clearly hasn't been stopped? Huh...I suppose I'll just have to imagine the group went immediately to the final battle after this fight, then.

But really, outside of the new DS content, the game is pretty much flawless in my eyes. Great characters, an engaging story, and a fun battle system make up the finest game I've ever played.

F-Zero Gx: Punishingly hard, unless you really dedicate to improving constantly. Though that's sort of the point...
Mmm, I will say a good few of the story missions can FUCK OFF AND DIE, because they're just cheap. Can't fault the grand prix mode though, not one teeny bit.
Shadow of the colossus had unintuitive controls, and small colossi were pretty annoying.
Fallout 3 has really stiff animations, inconsistent voice acting and is hilariously buggy.
Bioshock kind of slacked in the second half, Fontaine just wasn't half as interesting as ryan, and the escort mission and arbitrary boss fight didn't help either.

Ok Bioshock--I loved fighting Big Daddies, but that's the criticism not the compliment. They didn't throw in enough Big Daddies throughout the game, and when I learned I was near the end I was in shock. I wanted more Big Daddies, more Little Sisters, and a hell of alot more splicer-killing madness! I loved it but it had to end v.v,. My compliment, however, is the fact that while it was cut short everything about it rocked. Being able to turn security cameras into alerts for you as well as protection, the fancy small-time bosses, and most of all the time period in which the game is set.
