Half-Life 2's weapon selection is pretty stale; the only ones that are really any fun to use are the gravity gun, which I honestly can't really complain about, and the Combine Standard Issue, which doesn't have enough ammo available to use as much as I'd like. I really don't feel like I'm in control of anything very powerful when I'm using the majority of these devices.
Quest for Glory commits one of the cardinal sins of gaming: it has a walking death scenario. That is not the sort of thing that should ever be in a video game.
Additionally, I don't see how people are having difficulty finding flaws with Deus Ex ? I want so badly to love it, but it just doesn't want me to. The animation is among the worst of any game I've ever played, lots of the voice acting is terrible, the sound design in general is terrible, and worst of all, the weapons and combat are profoundly unsatisfying. I feel like I'm using pop-guns when I'm in a firefight, and the AI is atrocious. These flaws have prevented me from ever getting any further than the Hong Kong section.
