So I've just finished work & I'm on the train going home. It's 9 o'clock in the evening I'm tired & I just want to read my book. A teenager around 15/16 comes bowling onto the train D&B music blaring on his phone without headphones & parks his carcass opposite me. I look up & this is how the series of events goes

Me 'Mate, can you turn that off or down I really don't want to listen to it'
Teen 'WOT?'
Me 'I said can you turn it down. I'm trying to read.'
Teenager 'Why should I?'
Me 'How about consideration of others? I doubt anyone else wants to listen to it'

Teen looks me up & down makes some 'tst' noise then carrys on bopping to his music

His phone then rings & after listening to him butchering the english language it becomes evident he isn't sure when his stop is but I know the area well enough to know its 2 stops after mine

I go to get up for my stop & just as I'm about to get off the train

Teen 'OI is tis 'emel?'
Me 'Yeah'

Teen then jumps off the train as the doors are closing, realises that he isn't at Hemel Hempstead

Teen 'You f***ing prick this int emel'
Me 'Don't you wish you'd turned your music down? Next train is an hour, enjoy the wait'

I walk off with a torrent of abuse following behind me knowing nothing the little douche could say would top what I'd just done to him. Felt slightly guilty but smug as a bastard for taking the opportunity to exact some small & petty revenge.

So the question to you escapists is, have you ever experienced something like this? Someone acting like a dick to you & you getting your own back in some opportunist manner?

I don't understand people cranking up their tunes like that. Especially in enclosed areas like a bus. On the street I can understand putting it a bit louder to tune out the ambient noises. But on a bus?

Yesterday I had to go get some milk and I heard this music like really loud. Across this 10ish meter wide street was this kid with EARPHONES in and I could sing along if I wanted to. That's just mad!

You did the right thing mate, there's no need for anyone to be inconsiderate like that.

Well, if that was me, I'd have told him it was the stop you just went past, it solves all the problems with your scheme, and is even more vindictive.

OT: No, never.

Sure. One morning, my stepdad said this to my lovely little half-siblings "Look, it's zero degrees outside. That's when it's just as hot as it's warm."
Me: "But there are several different ways of measuring temperature. I mean, that's just Celsius degrees."
He: "I knew you'd find something to complain about."
Me: "And I knew you wouldn't get your facts straight."

You are awesome.
The prick deserved it. Eye for an eye!
I don't think I've ever gotten this opportunity myself.
Exactly that. Some people, especially people like him deserve it.

I hope you get the oppurtunity soon.

I once sent a co-worker to the wrong meeting room in a different building, but that was me being a dick. I'm still waiting for him to get his opportunist revenge on me.

If it goes some way to justify my actions I could mention that he had really bad B.O. and seemed it make a point of standing waaay to close to people when in conversation.

I wish something as epic as this happened with me (me being on the positive side of course) sadly I have not a story to share, but thanks for sharing yours.

I was going to say the flaw in that plan would be that he'd then think he'd just missed his stop... then realised if he had got on the next train back the way he'd come he would have been more screwed :D

Dude, as of now, you are officialy my hero of the week.

Cruelty is not my thing, I useually just suck it up, but making him wait for an hour because he was just too lazy to look outside, that's classic! Kudos.

Especially the taunt afterwards, it desirves extra credit, can't stress enough;)

I love you.

Sadly I've never done anything liek this because I never really get the chance. But the other day I did accidently say one of my friends, who I was playing cards with, was so bad he's like if cancer was playing cards.

I felt a bit bad because it just kind of fell out but by god he was awful, just awful. Luckily other people found it more funny than harsh. Oh well.
