Thanks for the replies everyone. From the replies i've gotten, it doesn't seem to have happened to as many people as i might have thought, so that makes me worry a little bit more. But on the bright side, i'll hopefully be over it in a week or so.

I suppose it's a good thing that your intrested in the character, the creator of that anime/manga did a good job of making the characters or one character intresting.
Yeah, she certainly is a unique character and very different from the average anime chick. Azumanga Daioh really managed to pull me in with it's individual but still quite believable characters.

Don't worry. Attraction is common, doesen't mean you'll be particularly in love with them. Theres nothing wrong with being attracted :D
Just be reasonable, and contact help if it ever does get too far, which is highly unlikely.

First, that post on Yahoo isn't you, right? Second, don't worry, it isn't a problem with you, it just means that the creators of that anime are good at their job. Third, aaaaaaaaah! Calling that picture creepy is an understatement.

Good thinking. If i ever get to the stage where i start thinking i want to marry her or anything of the sort, i think professional help will be required.

No, no, that isn't me. I chose to post that one because it was about the same character, but no thankfully i haven't gotten to that stage. That guy was talking about collectables and freeing her from a glass cage *shudders*. Btw, when i saw that pic the first time i couldn't sleep for a week.

I should mention that its not worth stressing about. Its not gonna do you any harm, only if it goes from a little "crush" to infatuation and obsession. In your case however, the simple fact that you're acknowledging that its strange, and that you don't want to end up obsessed with fictional woman, tells me that you'll be fine. If its anything like what I felt when I had crushes whether real or fictional, then its a good feeling, enjoy it while it lasts.

Well, it's a bit embarassing, so please don't laugh... too much :(. Do you know the anime Azumanga Daioh? Well, that Osaka character. She was just a unique character and didn't fall into the typical tall, busty anime chick thing. But yeah, still not good.
Pfft, just seems to mean you're about the person, not the body. Or you have a thing for stupid girls?
Most everyone here though is like you, so no worries. Though they may not realise it since it is one of those 'guy love' things, like, bromance or whatever. Masterchief, Marcus, and such.
I know Tamaki from Ouran really swooned me. I would have totally been one of their regulars if it were real and I was a student there.

Hmmm, i guess it is a somewhat pleasant feeling at times, but that's what concerns me lol. I suppose it's good that i am worried about it, but at the same time i just trust myself fully not to become too irrational about it.

Thanks, i think you've helped reassure me a bit. It's good to know that there may be others out there who've had the same experience. It's certainly not an attraction to the character physically (though can i use the word physically if she's not real?).

This is an excellent point.
Everyone has their fantasies about fictional characters, and that's nothing to be worried or, as mentioned above, 'stressed' about. Fictional characters are designed to be appealing, especially heroines and heroes, whether it's physically or their 'personality'. The writers want you to like them, and sometimes a piece of literature or film can touch you in a way that's staggering. It's why we cry at films, it's why we get mad at villains, it's why we cheer for the 'good guys'.

Just keep your grasp on the fact that it is indeed fiction (Don't get obsessive), and enjoy the memories.

Well, I think it actually means if you yourself have a physical reaction to someone...in your pants. So yes you can be physically attracted to someone regardless if it is to their body or other. But even that would not make you a freak, as drawn porn is rather extremely popular.

Thanks for moving the thread btw. Yeah your right, I guess the creators are trying to make you care about the characters. It's just that normally i manage to distance myself from a fictional character, but for some reason this time it's affected me.

Well when I was younger I did have a bit of a crush on Tenten from Naruto. But then I went to University and, well, real girls...

They're much more fulfilling in the end.

No, the time when professional help is required is when you go on a date (comes before marriage) with her...people have done that and well....yeah, that's creepy.

Luckily, i don't see you as the type of guy who would do that...usually the guys who want to date or marry a anime character are very lonely and very reclusive (or so i've heard) and i doubt your both.

Also, to make you feel less crazy and messed up, i commonly get anime characters (usually ones that i like or have a crush on) stuck in my head and hear their voices...yeah, my mind is TOO imaginive.
Currently i have Kiri komori stuck in my head which i don't mind cause she's usually so quiet i don't notice her.

Having a crush on a fake anime character is no different than having a crush on a real hot woman you will never get, like megan fox. Fantasy is fantasy and generally a good thing, just don't take it to unrealistic creepy stalker level.

Thanks, hopefully i don't fit either the lonely or reclusive category lol. But seriously, it would be strange to go on a date with a fictional character. How could you anyway, i can't see it would be possible (thankfully). Hmmm, the voices thing is interesting, you must have a good imagination. That's a good thing i believe :).
