Lucy in Elfen Lied (not Nyu, surprisingly, but Lucy, the sadistic mental side. Maybe that says something about me that I prefer a crazy psycho ***** to a normal personality.

EDIT: By the way, I've worried myself slightly that I may in fact be slightly disturbed anyway, given that one of my anime crushes happens to be portrayed as a psycho sadistic murdering ***** who rips people's limbs off for her own twisted amusement. Hence to try and make myself feel a bit better, does anyone else have that same crush, i.e. Lucy from Elfen Lied?

I was most definitely attracted to her character, mainly because it is so conflicted, she has a sweet side and then she has her darker side that she tries to resist, although her sadism is much less in the Anime than the Manga.

As long as you remember that she's fictional and you not...you should stay sane. Myself I always liked Sheena from Tales of Symphonia(it was a game but it was pretty much anime). My thoughts were more"if she was real I would deffinitely want to meet her" than anything though, so...I'm not sure where I'm going with this but you get the general idea.

You're fine so long as you don't go off your rocker and start buying everything with said character's face on it. Like the people who think that chick from that shitty Gurren Laggan(or however the fuck you spell that pile of dirt) is the single most beautiful person ever, and buy every toy, picture, statue, whatever of her and have their rooms decked out in that shit. At that point you have two options:

I myself gave up on real women long ago and now subsist almost completly on FPSs and Porn to fill the place where a sex life should be. But thats just my technique. You dont have to go that path. I hear pills and depressing music also work.

I don't think anything is wrong with you. I have had crushes on anime and manga characters before. It's no big deal. If we didn't like the characters, we would not care what happened to them. The post about that guy you put up is an very extreme case, should seek help and is not the norm. As long as you realize your crush is based on a fictional character and is never going to happen, I think your fine and don't worry about it. If you feel that care too much about a character, switch to a different anime series.
