I would say World in Conflict is the Crysis of strategy games. I've yet to see an RTS (or TBS) that comes close in terms of graphics. It's also a great game apart from the visuals.

Yesterday I put my Xbox 360 to a HD-TV for the first time and put in Mass Effect 2. I was stunned by how good it looked in HD. I know there are probably better looking games out there but having played through the game 4 times not on HD and then switching to HD shows just how much better it got.

Just Cause 2 is pretty good, I'd say that its graphics are better than Crysis's.

Oh, and also Mass Effect 1 and 2 have great graphics. Starcraft 2 seems that it will have great graphics when it comes out.

if you think just cause 2 looks better than crysis you need your eves checked or a pc that can run crysis at high/very high.

jc2 looks good no doubt but cannot touch crysis on very high or with mods.

I'm with you on Uncharted 2 - still my pick for Prettiest Game I've Seen In A Long Time. Other than that I thought Assassin's Creed 2 looked pretty good!

In short? No, nothing really comes close to Crysis yet, except maybe Crysis 2 when that comes out! lol

Far Cry 2 is very pretty, especially fire effects, and you should check that out on a gaming PC; but it's no Crysis. Resident Evil 5's graphics also impressed me immensely, as did Devil May Cry 4 (which is by the same developers and uses the same engine) and you can grab them both on PC (they are both exceptionally good ports too)

errr as for the gameplay of the games I just mentioned: FC2 is a good but very frustrating game, Resident Evil 5 made me want to throw my computer out of the window, and DMC4 is fun but repetitive.
crysis 2 will be either comparable or slightly worse than the first because it needs to be playable by the PS3 and (more importantly) the 360... that and the gameplay will be shit in comparison but thats beside the point
Just because the console versions have to look worse doesn't mean the PC version will suffer, and from what I have heard they are putting effort into making Crysis 2 look as good as possible.

As far STALKER goes, I'll say that with Complete mod, it's a damn pretty game! And an awesome one as well, as far as gameplay goes. Just don't expect the game to do any hand holding for you. You are on your own and pretty much anything you meet will want to murder you horribly.

No, crysis is STILL the prettiest/most advanced game and the system requirements aren't all that high nowadays.
Crysis is 2.5 yrs old now. Maybe we're stuck in 2007 because there's only so much artists can do on a triple-A budget.

Mass Effect 2 looked shiny so did Fallout 3
fallout 3 had the most low res textures, and the crappiest models in a game. i thought "did they cut the budget and have to use morrowind graphics?" during the entire game. mass effect 2 however is close.
I liked how they did it, the environment sucked me in and I got to see a guys head blow apart in 3 different directions.

Mass Effect 2 is absolutely beautiful.

The first one was great, but the second one blew me away. 2nd prettiest game I've ever played, Crysis, of course, being the 1st.

Actually the PC graphics are going to be very different from those on the consoles, so it will probably still be the best looking game on the PC (in terms of realistic graphics of course).

Just Cause 2
Fallout 3 if you install some texture resolution mods and fellout to remove the green filter is quite impressive, not amongst the best though.
STALKER with Complete 2012 is quite nice.
GTA 4 / Episodes from Liberty City. if you can max this (well you cant max everything probably but you can max most things that aren't draw distance related.) it looks amazing.

Less conventional:
Beat Hazard
Team Fortress 2 (not in pure power but lookswise its incredible stylized)

MGS4 had some of the most amazing visuals I had ever seen in a game. I can't say it beats Crysis on maximum settings but still amazing.

we are stuck in 2007 primarily because most games are made for consoles and ported over to pc, secondly pc only developers are shrinking in numbers and those that continue are usually smaller developers, and thirdly because some game makers do not want to push their system requirements through the roof and limit their sales because people have to upgrade their pcs.

more money to be made when things are cross platform simply out of common sense, then there is the whole piracy issues which hurt pc sales to a degree not seen on consoles.
