Ella took a quick sip of what James had offered her and jumped from her seat. "Holy- What's in this stuff?" But before James could answer her Ella quickly made her way into her mech.

"Systems onine!"

"Systems online Ms. Ella. Everything is running at 100% efficiency. Your not dozing off. I'm assuming this means that you are energized and that we are leaving?"

"We sure are."

Leo smiled as his ears twitched in several different directons while he looked over Cat's diagnostics. The other mechs are booting up and running healthily. Though one does sound like its running a bit rough. He though to himslf. I'll have to fix it after his trip though, I'll most likely be gone before they return

Race: Hoontery( This is the slang term for "Human-Kuntari, as he is crosss-bred. The Kuntari are a race that is almost identical to human, but are still incredibly rare. They are born with a natural immunity to pure Crystaline, making them incredibly valuable to the workforce.)
Description: Wears his fedora everywhere, even while working. Has dirty brown hair, Pale skin, and is always covered in soot and oil.

Current or New Citizen: Current.

Bio: Abandoned at an orphanage at a young age, he was bought by the government when they discovered he was part Kuntari. They put him to work in the Weapons factories. He showed an uncanny skill for mechas, and now spends his time Designing Weapons, Mechas, and Armor.

Rank in Company: Technology.

Mecha's Name: Does not actualy fight, but has a helper bot he designed himself. He
has grown some sort of Pet-Like attraction to it, and has named it "Choppy".

James chuckled as Ella made her way swiftly to her mech.

"You're welcome!"

Turning, James walked to Jackal and ran his hand along the mech's armour plating before making his way into the cockpit. Seating himself, he grinned.

"How are we doing today Jackal?"

A slightly exasperated female voice echoed around him.

"Alright, I suppose. It took you long enough to come and say hello!"

James adopted a contrite expression.

"I apologise sincerely..."

He couldn't keep the straight face and started to chuckle.

"Fine, laugh away! You'd better have something to make this up though!"

James smiled, pressing a few buttons.

"Actually, I do. I've managed to get us off light duties today and onto a patrol bound for the north."

The mech's voice was noticeably brighter.

"Well I suppose I can forgive you... This time..."

James, patted the control panel.

"You're welcome. Are we ready to go?"

The mech spoke again, but not before laughing.

"When have I ever not been?"

Silic jumped inside the mech, leaning back into the seat. His eyes focused over a wide assortment of switches and doodads, most likely all capable of killing someone if accidentally pressed.

The mech said in a gruff mechanical voice.

"Shut up."

In his shop, Ned was working on a new Anti Aircraft gun for the Mark IX.

"Choppy, hand me a Compression Welder."

Um...We have the RMCII and the HK3IV.

"The IV is ready? I thought that was still being tested."

It is being tested. If it blows up in you're face, I'll be sure to email the designer and tell him it's not quite ready.

"Wonderfull...Hand me the safety googgles while you're at it."

Hey, did you hear that Gil's taking the new pilots out for patrol?

"I look forward to endlessly repairing their Mechas...Hey, this thing can weld. Choppy, order me a few more of these."

Choppy sent a brief message to the equipment facilitator:

 Ned want's more HK3IV's. And the smithy's out of Crystaline. Again.

Have you been introduced to any of them yet?

"No, but the first time one of them misfires and blasts off somebody's thrusters, Gil will probably want them to know who it is that keeps their Mechas working. They don't pay me enough for this."

Who do you think you're kidding?

"Yeah, they know I love it..."

Okay guys, doors open! Fly out in single file

" Gil said over the communicator, before firing up the engines.

"Nice and easy Em, I don't wanna chip your paintwork." She said, as the Mecha drifted towards the door.

"

<color=blue>Maybe we should, I could use a touch up.

" Emmerson replied, but they made it out the door with no scratches.
Zooming through the underground tunnels, they passed workers, who were installing more safety lights.

"I don't see why we need anymore lights." Gil commented, as she starting planning out a course on the screens in front of her.

Ned was polishing his newest creation, when a thought struck him.
"Shoot....Choppy, can you bring up the list of pilots who just left on patrol?"

Sure thing. But can I ask why?

"A pilot told me I could test out new equipment on their mech. I was hoping that pilot was still here?"

Found it! Gil, Ella, Langda, Uke, and a Silic model.

"Oh, great. Ella was gunna be first to try out this new EMP cannon. Now what am I going to do...."

Maybe I could have it!

"Are you serious? the things half as big as you!"

I alway wanted to be a Mech...

"Uh Huh. Well, could you go find a pilot who isn't using their mech?"

*Sigh* Fine...

Choppy walked away on his three legs, making a great show of looking sad.

"Choppy? Today, please?"

You never let me have my fun...


As Choppy left the workshop, (Or the "Smithy", As Ned liked to call it) Ned turned his attention abck to the EMP cannon.

"You're going to make some pilot very happy. And some enemy of the city very sad... Maybe I should design something for choppy. Cheer him up a little." At this, he brought out his tools.

 

[Time Travelling Toaster]

"Bleh, Xion! Boot yourself up!" Uke shouts across the hangar.

He is met by the whirring of Xion's main systems booting up, what is it?

"We're flying out, get your shiny metal ass moving!" he shouts climbing up onto the cat walk and jumping into the cockpit.

Through the hangar entrance hatch, Bursts a 5 foot tall robot. It is orange, and has three legs. It's brand is unfamiliar.
Pant...Pant... Is anyone in here not using their mecha today?

Gwen looked up from his maintenance at the strange mecha.

"We're not up to anything. Why, what do ya need?" he called to the thing as he stood up, leaning heavily on his cane.

"How come you never ask me before you make decisions like that?"

"I'm telling the truth. We finished simulation an hour ago and you've been grumbling ever since."

"Still, I'd like to be able to voice my opinion before you sign us up to an unknown chore. If it involves heavy lifting, I'm out."

"Heavy lifting to you is several tons Atlas." Gwen sighed and turned back to the other mecha. He was having a hard time getting used to machines that could talk back. In the mines you simply fixed them without any need for banter but nowadays everything was accompanied by a ten minute chat beforehand. "How can we help?" Atlas made a noise that sounded curiously like a cough. "We can help if it doesn't involve heavy lifting," Gwen added.

Oh, Finally! Well, the Mech Tech guy (You might know him, His name is Ned) says he wants to try out this new gun he designed. He'll probably attach it to you're mech there and see if it works alright. He seems really excited about it. I don't think it involves heavy lifting...you might have to shoot something though. Oh, I know. Here:

A small panel moved to the right on the main body of the robot, revealing a screen. A rotating picture of a large gun is revolving slowly.

I could explain how it works, but I know he would like to do that. I think Ella was supposed to be the one to try it out, but she left on patrol. I'm supposed to find someone else.

As the Mecha's sped through the underground system, a light ahead of Gil told her they were nearing the surface.

"

Woohoo! Okay guys, get ready to spread out. We do a full circle of the city together, then split off for a while.

" She said over the comunicator.
In a burst of sunlight, Emmerson flew out of a secret hatch hidden in the ground near the East District.

"

<color=blue>It's bright out, you may want to put on sunglasses.

" Emmerson said to Gil.

"But Emmy, I see everything on these screens, I don't need sunglasses." She replied, a little confused about the increase in Emmersons sarcasm.

Gwen nodded as he looked at the weapon. "I don't think Atlas will mind shooting things," he said which got a laugh from Altas. "Does Ned want us to meet him in his workshop or at the firing range?"

First the workshop, then the firing range. He is going to be very happy I found someone. Maybe he'll even give me an upgrade! I can't wait... Let me radio him!

This is Ned. What's up Choppy?

You'd better warm up the compression welders...

You don't mean...

I found someone!

Oh, Choppy that's spectactular! Tell them to come over right away. I think I might get you that energy conductor you wanted!

Roger! We'll be right over.

"Just give me a few minutes to pack away this gear then we'll follow you out," Gwen said as he headed back to his tools, sorting them away as quickly as possible.

"Come on, let's not keep the mechanic waiting," Atlas called, an eager note creeping into the AI's voice.

"You'd be the first to complain if I missed your maintenance," mumbled Gwen as he put the tools away. "Actually, you tend to be the first to complain anyway." Gwen climbed the metal stairs into the cockpit, dropping his cane on the floor by his feet. He quickly went through the usual start-up routine, though he didn't bother closing the cockpit for such as short distance.

"Right, lead the way Choppy," he called down.

Ella flew right behind Gil. She was supposed to be making sure all of her weapons systems were running smoothly, but she was a bit occupied.

"Uh..... Ms.Ella?"

"If you like pina coladas! And getting caught in the rain!" Ella sang loudly.

"MS.ELLA!!! PAY ATTENTION OR I'LL DIVE INTO THE OCEAN!"

"What? What could you possibly want? You want gum? Soda? An oil change?!"

"....... Just make sure that you fly straight..."

Yes sirs!

When choppy is done leading them through the various hallways and rooms of the security facility, they get to a large metal door. Choppy raises a leg and taps it three times.

"Who is it?"

Who do you think?

"Alright, just let me type in the... There!"

The door slowly rises up, revealing Ned standing next to a keypad.

"Welcome, welcome. Um, the Upgrade Appplication Unit is over here..."

Ned leads them through the workshop to what looks like a cage with various instruments hanging above it.

"Now, if you could have your mecha enter the UAI?"

Ned heads over to a computer terminal nearby.

"Oh, sorry... In all the excitement I forgot to ask your names?

"Gwen and my mecha is Atlas," he said as he manoeuvred into the UAI. As he got out of the cockpit he said, "I take it you're Ned?"

"Your powers of deduction never cease to amaze me," Atlas murmured causing Gwen to hit the mecha with his cane.
