Yay China America!
I agree with that statement. I told people "don't vote for Obama he doesn't know his ass from his face because one is shoved so far up the other!" but no Americans don't vote intelligently, they vote on looks. Obama's black Ima go vote for him just so we can have a black president, or the other one, Mccain is all old and ugly Ima vote for the young handsome one (not gay). And now look where we are, the god damned U.S.S.A.!

Rant over but is this a bill or a law cuz if its just a bill then it probably won't be passed by congress but if its already a law then I'm going to break it just to take it to the Supreme Court who should in all fairness have already stepped in.

This is only a proposal. Probably entered by some whackjob senator that no one will listen to.
This is an extremely crazy idea though.

Sounds remarkably similar to some conspiracy theories i read about a while ago. I'm going to go ahead and dismiss this. Although i don't live in the US anyway.

My God you are a moron. They didn't vote for Mccain because he is an archaic being. His intentions would have slowed progress of your country, with his stupid beliefs.
Plus this is just a proposed bill, so Obama has nothing to do with it. Don't start running your mouth off when you clearly have no idea what you are on about.

People like you shouldnt have the right to vote

oh dear. that's not very good is it. I'll just sit here in the rain on the other side of the pond and read and enjoy my internets. heh heh heh

Something like that would never get of the ground in Britain. Government computer security is atrocious over here. Especially when civil servants keep leaving their f***** memory sticks on the bus

You know that the president already has the authority this bill "gives" him right? And to top it off, he can at any time order all American web sites shut down for "security reasons." And Canadians, I wouldn't be so smug, most of your internet runs through the U.S. at some point, making any of those sites that run through here subject to the same laws and restrictions.

Don't get your panties in a bunch, this is only a proposed bill. [link]http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/bdquery/z?d111:s.00773:[/link] I'll pay more attention when this gets referred to a subcommittee much less is scheduled for debate in the full committee. All sorts of crazy crap is proposed which makes press for the pols but 99% of it doesn't go anywhere.
That and this cannot reasonably be passed, it is totally forbidden by the First Amendment.

It's still in committee, where it will likely die, especially since more than one is looking at it. The time to panic would be if it makes it through both houses of Congress, which about 3% of legislation manages to do.

The political backlash of this would be almost as bad as it would be if they inacted another draft for the Iraq War. There's no way this will win out in the end. It doesn't make any logical sense. It would even have a negative impact on our already-in-the-shitter economy.

My guess is that this was proposed by some conservative crackpot that thinks America should be a dictatorship. If this somehow does pull through, I'm movin' to Canada. I'd go to college for free there anyways :D my grandpa served in the Canadian military during WWII.

I predict large, angry mobs with flamethrowers the day this happens.
Ok you get the flamethrowers I'll form a union to mass produce Molotov cocktails! But on topic. It will never be passed. The government will get it's ass kicked and Obama will be out of office before I can form that union!
