I'm trying to get into it. I've bought the 3.5 player handbooks, monster guides and dungeon master guide. I even got the D&D for Dummies book. Though I'm having difficulty finding some one to have a game with.

Perhaps a few of us that really wanna try getting into it but don't seem able to, could get together and have a PBE game of it or something? Obviously with someone who knows what they're doing as DM.

I have played the basic Human Fighter, an Elven Wizard, and a Half-Elf Bard (the last one being my particular favorite) in the last four years or so that I've been playing seriously. D&D is an awesome game, good for unwinding with friends and just having a good time.

Assuming Fallouts 1 and 2 count, every now and again.
No they don't, and I can't see why you'd think that they would. They're neither Old School, Board Versions, or even D&D.

I used to play, at l east when I still had people to play with. I was an avariel thief/mage, and they pretty much stopped playing with me since I could get out of almost all their traps.

Still, it was fun. Wouldn't mind doing it again.

I'm not talking about DDO if you thought that,I meant the old school board version. Who here still plays, and what did you/do you play as?

I myself ran a Mind Flayer Necromancer Wizard, because being evil is fun,and the telepathy and telekenisis is fun, especially when smashing people with chairs.
I want to, and I so want to use your build. What did you turn down when specializing?

is there a decent thing online that'll help me with character build? I wouldn't mind getting a couple of characters set up, so if I find people, I can jump right in straight away.

Stupid question time:

I'm pretty sure i'm gonna be disappointed here, but I have to ask... Theres no way I can play by myself is there?

Other than the varying quality of video games set in the DnD universe, no you cannot. One Dungeon Master and One player is the minimum, really.

OT: Yes, I started playing in 2.5 edition in middle school. I DM'd several campaigns with my sister and a few of our friends. I kinda fell out of it in high school when I moved, though I played a couple online campaigns a few years back. As of the past week or two actually I've been trying to find some good 3.5 adventures to get my new group of friends into it, they're all pretty excited about it. I hope I've gotten a lot better as a DM >.>

escapist rpg group, I'm pretty sure they have a game or two running, or some people who might want to start a game.

I play as so much different stuff. My latest is a Cleric/Rogue/Shadowbane Stalker. Totally badass. But yeah, I've been playing for a few years now, started with 3.5 and now combining 3.5 and Pathfinder.

My group is running two parties in the same setting. In the first I play a neutral human sorcerer who accidentally took the group to Heaven(sort of). He misfired while attempting to Use Magic Device a Cure Light Wounds wand inside of a Rope Trick(astral pocket). In the secondary party I'm a chaotic evil human rogue who died partway through the second dungeon, got taken to the Abyss and is now fiendish.

I play. Occasionally do a stripped down version of 2e, I DM most of the time. Also occasionally play 4e. Won't play 3.x. Willing to try BECMI. Also play a variety of other RPGs, although again usually as GM.

I'd like too, but no one around my area plays... I've tried using those online search websites and the closest group around here was actually pretty far out of the way, further than I was willing to travel for a game.

I really want to start playing DnD. But i lack the people to play it with, the reasources and other things. However, I do play Vampire: The Masquarade on a friday night as a Brujaa Bodyguard. Rolling a new guy next time we play though.

I have played 3.5 and 4th but Prefer 3.5.

Currently not playing but I use to play pretty regularly when I lived near a guy who enjoyed DMing.

At the moment I've got a mate who wants to play but he's sick of DMing and is playing a lot of 40k so has little desire for D&D.

If anyone lives in Perth (not Scotland) and would have room for two more PC's PM me. =)

I'll be playing soonish though. There happens to be a game day at my local tabletop gaming shop on my birthday so yay.
