As it was flopping around in slow motion after the first drop and it slowly turned to face the camera, I saw in my minds eye the fish's mount open and say:

"wwwwwwwwwwwhhhhhhhhhhhhyyyyyyyyyyyyy?"

Grossest daily drop yet.

Wow. That was pretty disturbing to watch.

Then again, I find dead fish disturbing at the best of times.

Also, guys, I know the sound for this series isn't the most critical of things, but it bugs me a little that it consistently seems to be a lot quieter than any other video on the escapist.

I keep find myself adjusting the volume on my computer before and after watching these.

Read and think before getting all worked up!

But, while visually interesting, this video outlines 2 very big problems in Western culture.

1) We have no problem with wasting important things like food for entertainment

2) That we have no problem with animal cruelty especially for entertainment.

Sure the fish was already dead, but it died just to used as a visual joke. That is a wasted life even if it is only fish life. The fact that the fish looked almost alive as it fell in slow-mo just re-articulated these issues in a more evocative way.

Only in the west are we so spoiled that food can be treated this way. Shame.
Yeah, because it's not like those guys paid money or anything getting it from a fish market or a super market where the fish in the freezers are, gee I don't know, ALREADY DEAD? And yeah, it's unfair that that fish's carcass was only used for entertainment, I mean, surely it was a very morally sound fish with a lot of life-long goals. Hell, he might have even had a decent paying job selling shells to crabs as real estate. Why I think that he was even helping Marlin and Dory find Nemo when he was swept up in a fisherman's net to be sold at a market later on. Yeah, too bad that this little fish didn't get the chance to stagnate in an open freezer/market like the others it was caught with. He had the misfortune to be picked up by the "Loading Ready Run" guys to be dropped on a floor. /sarcasm

*sigh*

Well, Mr. BleedingHeart, I have a question for you now. Do you happen to know what they did with that fish after they dropped it twice? I bet you're probably thinking that they threw it out. While that may be possible, they could have also taken it, washed it off, chopped off the head and pulled out the bones and had themselves a nice fish dinner. Just because they drop a fucking fish on the floor a couple of times doesn't necessarily mean that the meat is instantly tainted beyond consumption.

For Christ's sake man, you people always go on about how horrible we "Westerners" are and how funny we think animal cruelty is, yet you fail to notice and/or mention that we have several dedicated associations, police forces, and medical professionals that cater specifically to animals and punish those that outright abuse, neglect, and torture animals. Dropping a Goddamn fish on the ground a few times is not animal fucking cruelty especially when the Goddamn thing is already dead! Don't go placing the blame on these guys just because they purchased a whole fish from a market, or solely on the fact that the thing is a Goddamn fish!

Jesus H. Christ, it's almost like you're comparing these guys to that chick that threw a litter of ALIVE AND HELPLESS puppies into a river and got entertainment out of it.

"What's this thing coming toward me very fast?

So big and flat and round, it needs a big wide sounding name like 'Ow', 'Ownge', 'Round', 'Ground'! That's it! Ground! Ha! I wonder if it'll be friends with me?

Hello Ground!"
You Sir or Madam are epic win. :D

If that X360 gets crowbarred it will make my Friday even better.
if it doesn't get crowbarred.....I'll be in shock.......those 360's are heavy duty.....heck....you could knock someone out with one with a good enough swing

I expect the panels and faceplate with fly off on the first drop.....that much is to be expected

OH GOD THE HORROR

First the reversed camera made it look like it was coming back to life. And then during the drop it looked like it turned to the camera, its pleading eyes whispering, WHY

What have you unleashed, LRR?

I like the way that even once its eyes are distended, it still manages to turn to the camera with a "why me?" look of sadness.

Would love to see an original Game Boy dropped! :D

For what it's worth, the fish was bought on extreme discount because it was past the best before date. We were thinking about how to protect it for later eating, but then opened the package and realized that it smelled really funky and was probably not edible anyway. If it makes you feel any better, even though we got rid of it immediately after the drop, it totally stunk up the whole drop area for the rest of the day.
Does it say something about a person when his first post on a forum community is about stinky, old, dead fish?

Further off topic: For those talking about food waste. I assume that you all catch/raise your own meat, butcher it yourselves, grow your own vegetables, herbs, spices, etc...what? You don't? Do you know the _waste_ you're contributing to by supporting stores that toss out hundreds of pounds of bad product?? You should be ashamed. Get off of your soap boxes and take it for what it is...just another drop.

OT: Fully agree with everyone who wanted to look away, but couldn't because it was so danged fascinating....but also gross.

That... eye... the staring, popping, following-me eye...

Still, better than a slap in your own eye with one of them. (rimshot)

Really..? THIS is the episode that offends people?

Wow.. I am disappoint, Internet.

I don't hate animals at all, but I honestly could not stop laughing both times. The first when it looked at the camera and slowly flopped all like "Noooooooooo~". then the second time when it LITERALLY ROLLED OVER.

I <3'd this one. Didn't even care about the eye. I've seen fish eyes before. Has no one here ever dissected animal parts (like eyes) in a high school science class? No? Wow.

Now, as an Xbox 360 (Reach Slim edition, though), I'm not at all angry at LRR for dropping one. Hell, I could care a lot less about what's dropped, as long as it smashes. The 3 consoles on the market are so drastically different that it shouldn't matter. They all have exclusive games, and with XBOX/PS3 versions of games, they're fairly even in the "better console" stakes. Different games have different strong (and weak) points for both consoles. Get over it!

I don't like how it kept turning around in a sort of 'WHYYYYY??' kind of motion D:
Although it's not as tasty why not try dropping veg instead? ;^;
Sliced onion or mash would might be good...
