Read and think before getting all worked up!
But, while visually interesting, this video outlines 2 very big problems in Western culture.
1) We have no problem with wasting important things like food for entertainment
2) That we have no problem with animal cruelty especially for entertainment.
Sure the fish was already dead, but it died just to used as a visual joke. That is a wasted life even if it is only fish life. The fact that the fish looked almost alive as it fell in slow-mo just re-articulated these issues in a more evocative way.
Only in the west are we so spoiled that food can be treated this way. Shame.
Yeah, because it's not like those guys paid money or anything getting it from a fish market or a super market where the fish in the freezers are, gee I don't know, ALREADY DEAD? And yeah, it's unfair that that fish's carcass was only used for entertainment, I mean, surely it was a very morally sound fish with a lot of life-long goals. Hell, he might have even had a decent paying job selling shells to crabs as real estate. Why I think that he was even helping Marlin and Dory find Nemo when he was swept up in a fisherman's net to be sold at a market later on. Yeah, too bad that this little fish didn't get the chance to stagnate in an open freezer/market like the others it was caught with. He had the misfortune to be picked up by the "Loading Ready Run" guys to be dropped on a floor. /sarcasm
*sigh*
Well, Mr. BleedingHeart, I have a question for you now. Do you happen to know what they did with that fish after they dropped it twice? I bet you're probably thinking that they threw it out. While that may be possible, they could have also taken it, washed it off, chopped off the head and pulled out the bones and had themselves a nice fish dinner. Just because they drop a fucking fish on the floor a couple of times doesn't necessarily mean that the meat is instantly tainted beyond consumption.
For Christ's sake man, you people always go on about how horrible we "Westerners" are and how funny we think animal cruelty is, yet you fail to notice and/or mention that we have several dedicated associations, police forces, and medical professionals that cater specifically to animals and punish those that outright abuse, neglect, and torture animals. Dropping a Goddamn fish on the ground a few times is not animal fucking cruelty especially when the Goddamn thing is already dead! Don't go placing the blame on these guys just because they purchased a whole fish from a market, or solely on the fact that the thing is a Goddamn fish!
Jesus H. Christ, it's almost like you're comparing these guys to that chick that threw a litter of ALIVE AND HELPLESS puppies into a river and got entertainment out of it.
