I know what you mean. I beat Call of Duty 4 on Veteran and thought I was all that lol. Then I played online at my friend's house. Needless to say, I did not leave feeling good about my gaming skills that day (I think I got like 4 kills 8 deaths on Countdown my very first match ever).

I'm not great at COD 4, but I'm not one of those guys who does nothing but. I enjoy when I kill more than I die; it's enough for me. I am more fond of single player/co-op games anyway. Just enjoy what you're doing, as it is a game.

I know exactly what you mean. Im the best at video games in my circle of friends and they all had XBL before me and i still beat em. This for some reason made me feel like i was unbeatable. I went online and realized my friends must suck REALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLYYYYYY hard.

Ive gotten alot better. Infact i just finished a CoD4 match a few hours ago at 41 and 12. If i keep playing after i get my one god match i just go down hill.

So I used to think I was pretty good at videogames when I was only playing single player but now I realize that I pretty much suck. When I would play Halo 1 & 2 I thought I was awsome but when I started playing Halo 3 online (since i didn't have XBL on the original xbox) I got my ass kicked. Then I felt so acoplished when I beat Gutar Hero 3 on hard till the next day when I saw my friend 5 star Through the Fire and Flames on expert. I realize that only 1 person can be the best but it's such a drag when you relize that u aren't as good as you thought u were. Does anybody else feel this way?

bleh. dont make games the focus of your self esteem. you are undoubtedly good at all kinds of stuff that the people you are playing against suck at. I blow hard chunks at a lot of fps's, but I just have fun playing and getting my occasional good shot in.

Not really, I can pick up any game and be pretty competent at it within half an hour. Not meaning to sound egotistical but I have always had a knack for video games. I'd say I am above average on most competitive games as well.
