Being a Bandai-Namco game and using GFWL, I wouldn't have bought it even if it came with a free headjob dispenser.Skin said:Pretty much this. Although I agree with most of your points i have one question. Why does everyone keep saying that From Software have no experience with developing for the PC? A quick search on steam shows that they developed a game called Ninja Blade that was released in 2009 and published by ND + bitComposer Games.lapan said:Because people demanded they release it for the pc, which their publisher forced them to with a short deadline and with no prior experience.kingthrall said:but that is the point, why would you sell a game that is not adapted properly to the keyboard????lapan said:Since your complaint seems to be entirely related to controlls i'd advice getting a controller. If you already own a console you can just connect their controller.
The game was made for controllers/console originally so sadly Keyboard and mouse don't suit it well.
A keyboard was never the optimal input device for action rpgs such as these. The good thing about a pc is, you can use whatever input device you want with it. I personally do own a ps3 and a xbox as well, so i just used the Xbox controller. I don't see why i should force myself to play everything with a keyboard. It might be great for a few genres, but nothing is perfect.
With a controller it's at least as good as the console version.
Yeah really. It was acclaimed on consoles and sold well on PC with mixed reception, hardly overrated.PieBrotherTB said:Someone explain to me where 'highly-rated by many people who have enjoyed it' becomes 'over-rated'?
Damn Dexter, you really are the voice of reason where-ever you go (I say this with 100% seriousness BTW).Dexter111 said:snip
Actually, as long as you get the mod that unlocks the resolution and play with a controller, the port is pretty good. It's stable, plays just as well or slightly better than the console version, and looks more crisp because while the application-implemented anti-aliasing sucks and doesn't work properly with aforementioned mod, it supports forced AA through whatever graphics control panel your card has, which is more than I can say for Darksiders 2. I've made it to Anor Londo without any issues whatsoever, and it's actually had less crashes than quite a few 'good' ports (as in, it hasn't crashed on me once in over 20 hours of gameplay). The Jakeinator said:That's a real interesting tale, old bean.
It has already been established quite thoroughly the the port is garbage mate, and I'd have to say biggest piece of over-rated garbage ever is not a fitting title.
More a "shitty port you should really get for console because it's actually a pretty solid game on one of those systems."
It's very simple actually. When the majority opinion does not perfectly coincide with the opinion of the poster, then the majority is clearly wrong and their rating is over what it should be (aka over what the poster would rate it).PieBrotherTB said:Someone explain to me where 'highly-rated by many people who have enjoyed it' becomes 'over-rated'?
Except it's not a cash grab port. They were not going to port it at all because they KNEW they were going to fuck it up. They TOLD all these PC gamers signing the petitions that if they did do a port it was going to be subpar. And the PC gamers said they want it anyway.Thatrocketeer said:Eh, it's actually pretty funny seeing all these people defend a shitty cash in port. What's more is that some of these people will actually rage at developers for making a shitty cash in port in other games. The hypocrisy is just too sweet.

Not sure you knew this, but the only reason this port exists is because there was a petition from PC gamers for it to be made. The devs said the port would be godawful, but people said it was OK. Its not a cash-in if it exists because of a petition from the people who are complaining about it being a cash-in.Thatrocketeer said:Eh, it's actually pretty funny seeing all these people defend a shitty cash in port.
