They're a business. Their business model relies on their product being of superior quality. Their product is people. If the product goes and lowers its quality over a period of time, people are going to demand their money back when product does not meet expectations. Seeing as they can't destroy their product and make new ones, they can just kick them off and use the publicity to attract newer, shallower people, who appreciate such exclusivity.

At the end of the day, if you're resorting to a dating site, you've already failed at life, regardless of your eating disorders.

I think it is perfectly fine.

Keep in mind, these people were kicked out. Means they knew what this site was about, wanted to be part of it, then didn't maintain the standards required.

If that is what the people of the site want, then more power to them. Beautiful thing about the internet, you can allow whoever you want on your site.

Lol. Its a cult. They can do whatever they want. Good for them actually. I'm glad people are still allowed to make enemies and alienate people. Its what freedom of speech is based on, and i support it 100%.

I can't stand this, OH, be nice to fat people. They can't help it. Bull shit. Anyways, nevermind.
um.....can i be mean to them because i hate them as a person not because their fat?
Sure, you can hate them for whatever reason you want. Just so long as it doesn't hinder their personal rights. Which it doesn't.

This is the best thing I've heard all day. Seriously. No more pussyfooting around.

It's like being stuck near a smelly guy in a fairly upmarket restaurant. He's there, you know he is there, and you would love nothing more than to say, "Excuse me, could you leave please, you're putting me off my £/$50 meal." No, thats not right, and you would be considered intolerant, but why should people have to suffer fools they don't want to.

P.S. FIRST POST WHEEEE

If a non-farmer went onto a Farmer Dating site designed only for farmers, then they'd get booted.

If a poor person went onto a millionaire dating site designed for only millionaires, they'd get booted.

I see nothing different about this. They're just using a stricter use of the word beautiful to dis-include fatties.

Is not the best business motto, especially for a dating site, which usually relies on such people. Still, I suppose they want to live up to their name, so let them do what they want. (and yes, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but more often than not people like Ryan Reynolds are seen as more attractive than people like John Candy or Chris Farley)
Holy crap I almost peed my pants laughing at that picture
And I just saw A household Hacker video bout dis http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0714pS1LAzc&feature=sub

How much you wanna bet that the people who voted them off weigh 20 pounds more themselves, but were smart and didn't post photos?

o_O Wow. That's really harsh. I feel bad for the people that were kicked out.

I wish that dating would be less superficial. However, their site, their rules, unless they make people pay for membership and then didn't refund when they expelled them.
If membership is a monthly fee, they could have simply let their "last month" run out, and not renewed their membership.

OP:

HUH! Well, that's... festive of them.

I imagine there might be one or two hurt people out there, but they should expect such things when going on a site known for "voting people off the island."

(The initiation process actually allows people to vote on your appearance before you gain membership to the website. If you do not meet a cutoff point - you get bumped out of the running.)

I don't see why people are surprised by this. The site seems to be run by arrogant asshats.

I really hope that anyone who goes to that site isn't expecting to find someone that's down to earth and nice.

It's a stupid idea for a site in the first place. Who is going to be enough of a stuck-up prick to join a dating web site exclusively for "beautiful people" and yet not too stuck-up to use internet dating services? I would imagine few.

If they want to expel all the fat people, that's their right, but it's still pretty moronic. That's an awful lot of potential revenue.

It's hilarious but I think they should be allowed to kick them out. Lots of dating sites are exclusively for certain races and we don't call those sites racist if they kick out a whitey now do we?

I'm sorry, but something tells me that all the people that are offended by this are overweight themselves. I don't think it's a big deal. I hate dating sites anyway. I know a guy who dated through the internet, who met and broke up with 2 girls. One girl was a lying, cheating drug addict who stole his prescription medicine, and the other was a lesbian.

So just do it the old fashioned way, kiddos.
