Realisticly the only two people I see right now that it can be are Martian Manhunter or Green Arrow. Any other of the big characters would require a serious reworking, even moreso than the current 52 story have done. Manhunter's new background hasn't been revealed yet so there's plenty to work with.
Manhunter being gay would come off as extremely distasteful.

Two major alien super heroes, and one is an unbridled whore who calls anyone with any form of sexual sensibility a nonredeemable prude, and then you throw in the other being gay as the big reveal of the character. DC cannot handle sexual nature in any way possible.

Since when was Superman an unbridled whore ???

I love how pissed people are getting despite clearly not having a fucking clue. The new 52 is an entirely rebooted universe meaning they're not turning an established heterosexual character gay, not a whole lot has been established about the characters yet in this new continuity. I doubt it will be Supes or Bats though. In new 52 supes is still pining over lois and bats... well there's the first few issues of Catwoman. So can you please stop raging about something you clealry didn't give a fuck about until right now.
52 is very confusing atm since some characters are getting a full reboot and other books are treating the reboot as if it never happened and going off the previous continuity.

Huh, I've always felt all of DC's characters are gay.

Seriously though, this is a pathetic stunt and DC should be ashamed of themselves, way to jump on the bandwagon a bit late and handling it poorly by making it a huge reveal, as if it should matter greatly to everyone or something. Yes, this is totally proving equality and that gays are no different from the straights...it's not like they are just doing this to make money.

If they seriously make it Aquaman, it will be even more pathetic. My money is on the Flash or Green Arrow. Martian Manhunter is an alien so it doesn't make sense and Superman is way too classical to change like that (plus a bunch of old people probably read Supes and we all know some old people hate gay people or anybody different in any way.)

Part of me really hopes they make Batman gay just because the rage will be the most amazing thing ever, people will literally die if Batman is made homosexual.

I have read and owned the graphic novel of 'Justice League New 52 volume one' which all the origin comics of the Justice league get put together.
Going by all the characterizations of Wonder Woman, Batman, Superman, Green Lantern, the Flash, Cyborg and Aquaman... my bet is honestly on the Flash.

If only for the fact that he doesn't seem even slightly amazed by the sight of Wonder Woman.

This will go over about as well as Online DRM. They couldn't have come up with a new superhero? They had to change an existing one. Alienating part of those readers, so another group of readers can feel better about themselves. Great choice DC!
Yes, because you're equally alienated when Catwoman likes men, why can't she like women too!? Shut up.

In all seriousness, this is insulting, it's most likely going to be green lantern, because god forbid Batman would like the penis.
Well, there are 4 green lanterns, I would be shocked if it's Guy Gardner or Hal Jordan though, SHOCKED

Didn't Grant Morrison recently say he thinks Batman is probably gay? And if you look at him as a character it makes a lot of sense. Batman being gay really wouldn't bug me, sexuality is really not a big deal. People need to understand that pulling stuff like this doesn't help make sexuality less of a big deal, it makes it a bigger deal.

If it is Bats I just hope they don't make it into his sole character trait. Sexuality is incidental, leave it that way.
Although this would make for some very interesting Joker storylines in the future. Preying on Batman's sexual weakness always makes for Joker's most interesting moments.
Batman's not gay. He's a furry.

He's like 2 steps away from a fursuit.
That doesn't mean he doesn't like himself some sausage every now and again.

OT: Honestly, it'd be hilarious if Deadpool decided to crash the DC party and come out to mock them...
More than 50% of furries are bisexual, so it wouldn't be surprising.

Anyway, as much as I think Gay Deadpool would be hilarious, making him the gay one wouldn't be taken seriously.. because it's Deadpool. He's the complete opposite of serious.

I just hope DC handles it a bit better than Marvel's recent attempts. Young Avenger's Hulkling and Wiccan can be hard to watch sometimes. Its one of the most cliched romances I have seen in a comic book. It seems writers forget how to utilize subtly when trying to send the message "HEY CHECK IT OUT! THESE TEENAGE SUPER HEROES ARE GAY!" Yeah, we get it. Don't understand why their relationship has to be 100% of their characters though (at least in Hulkling's case... Wiccan has some other stuff going for him).

/rant
Because people don't seem to understand how to write someone who's different as a complex individual.

Keep in mind, Marvel had like 40 toke black characters in the 70s. Same deal, new era.

One giant leap towards equality!

And by equality I mean that in comic books gay characters will have an equal chance of finding their significant other dead and stuffed in a fridge.

Batman isn't gay, Robin is. Batman tries for Robin's sake, but his heart just isn't in it. :p

I would be very impressed if it was a character who is iconic and popular enough to have his own movie. But, it won't be, it will be a character that no one outside the comic community really cares about like Aquaman or Hawkman

Well at least some of those characters amounted to something eventually. Let's hope that we can say the same about some of these other characters a decade or so from now.

For anyone with some knowledge of Marvel history: I can't help but wonder if Busiek's Triathlon [http://i.annihil.us/u/prod/marvel//universe3zx/images/thumb/6/6f/Triathlon.jpg/406px-Triathlon.jpg] wasn't just an allegory for affirmative action (among others) but also Kurt's way of poking fun of Marvel's methods of old. Probably reading too far into that.

Well if we go by current/past relationships as a sign of their sexuality (I know it can just be a disguise but let's say it isn't) Green Arrow is nailing Black Canary so he's out. Sups has Lois, GL has Carol and/or Cowgirl, Hawkman has a thing for Hawkgirl so they're all out. Flash hits on anything with tits but has a thing going with Fire so he's out.

Aquaman depends which version we're talking about. If it is the King of Atlantis version he's hitched (and a fucking badass) if it's the other then that is feasible.

That leaves Martian Manhunter, Wonder Woman, and Batman. Batman would be a tough sell because of all the Batman fanboys. MM or WW could work though.

Here's my hope: It's some hero that doesn't generally get associated with a love interest. At one point, there's a quick line where the hero just mentions that he likes dudes in casual conversation. No one is suprised. No one makes a big deal about it. Its just there, and then they go back to fighting bad guys.

Comics tend to be pretty progressive on this front. They might as well keep being progressive, and start the much needed wave of gay characters where them being gay doesn't really have any relevance to anything because they are to busy doing story stuff.

Both Marvel and DC have had god homosexual and lesbian characters for YEARS this is something that is news only to people who don't read the comics... IE people who already don't care about such and such character being gay.

Just make Good characters and good stories and start advertising like normal things do, and stop with the stunts

Obviously it's Batman.

Has Robin made a return in the reboot? I don't really follow it.

I assure you those two lines are unrelated.
Well the current Robin in the Batman and Robin series is Batman's son Damian.

I don't see it as Aquaman since he is married.

I honestly don't know why they have to do this. If they do it with Batman they will completely ruin everything awesome about the Night of the Owls story arc. I currently get three of the Batman New 52 series but if they do this I will most definitely be boycotting that series. Not because he's gay but because they chose to make him gay for no reason whatsoever.

I just hope they don't go too all out with it. This is obviously a marketing stunt, but it could turn out to be really funny if it was Aquaman!

Batman would be a hard sell, his relationship with Catwoman would make it weird to say the least. Plus the obvious Batman/Robin thing would be a little too obvious. I'd guess MM.
