This doesn't even happen that rarely, it happened several times in Germany.

nd excess of body fat on one person causes a major drama?
Yeah. Think of it like a pod you deep-fry a turkey in. Add too much fat, or use a frozen turkey, and the entire thing can go up in flames with you suffering 3rd-degree burns. It's because you are using the device beyond its specification. The result looks like you tried frying the turkey in gasoline.

It's really just like a crematorium which often isn't designed to handle that much mass at once. Nothing hard to believe about it. If a device is used way beyond what it's designed to, bad stuff can happen if fire is involved.

comments about how horrible fat people are, I guess.
Yeah, some people are pretty terrible about this, sadly. This thread just shows it again.

Well, looks like it's certainly heating up in here. Hope this doesn't start a flame war :)
Why are you fanning the flames?!

Hey, it's not my fault this woman couldn't bother to do some fat burning exercise.
Fat pun and fire pun in one sentence? I'm not worthy!
Looks like these puns are spreading like wildfire!

...There's no way I'm the first person to think of that. I looked over all the posts, but I must've missed it. It's so obvious. I just missed it, right? Tell me you guys thought of this before I did.

God there's no need to get so burnt up about it...

I'll get my coat.
How dare you! This is a very hot, dead woman we're talking about! You know it's not just her sinuses that flare up a lot you know. It's cruel, just plain cruel to make such puns with burning passion about situations like this.

...I make terrible puns. I suck at this. You can kill me now.
Hey why am I coming under fire?! You have such a hot temper and you're gonna end up starting a flame war with your fiery attitude!

[sub]Don't worry, there's only so many fire based puns you can make :p[/sub]
It's very difficult to extinguish your fiery rage Hazy. I better stop before I make rapid-fire based puns and tell my officers to fire at will at any one of your jokes.

[sub]This is getting consistently worse Bro.[/sub]
You need to stop fanning the flames. I don't want to turn up the heat, I want things to cool off.

[sub]I can't think of anymore puns...[/sub]
I know you have a burning passion for flaming on here, but please cool it down.

*Crickets chirp*
These jokes really aren't setting the world on fire, guys. Time to smother this, I think.

I have a hard time believing this.

The place is supposedly able to handle a fire that totally burns a human body, and excess of body fat on one person causes a major drama?

...

Oh, andobligatory fire jokes and comments about how horrible fat people are, I guess.
Y'know, pound for pound, fat contains more significantly more energy than dynamite. When you have this much of it, it's not hard to see how things can go wrong.

How do you explain something like that to the family of the person you cremated? That is going to be one weird and awkward conversation.

I laughed, but not suprised, usually when a body enters the furnace, the thing is essentialy sealed air tight and a burner flame is ignited, this will procceed to cremate the body usualy gets about 500c inside a furnace on an average human, but with excess fat (to an extreme in this case) the fat is very volatile and and can pump the tempreture up to around 1000-1500c.But in all cases you cant open the flume and release all the humman ash into the air, an afterburner is ignited which essentially consumes all ash in the furnace. but at the same time the flue is opened allowing the temp to drop and the gases to escape.

I just saw the title and chalked it up to more zombies in the news.

Albeit fat, arsonist zombies.

Eh, sounds like the people at the crematorium were at fault. Did they really think it was wise to just shove someone into the fire for someone who weighed 30st? Even I would think twice about it.

Still...I guess it's more calories she's burnt in a lifetime.

So she was too fat for the fire to handle?

Well I guess it's a good thing no one else was hurt.

...Yikes! Whose idea was it was to cremate her anyway? ...Or they should have at least been aware of the possibility...

I wonder if it smelled like bacon...
According to certain tribes from Papua New Guinea, and something that I learned from TV, people have a taste that is similar to pig. This is coming from tribes that were once cannibalistic.

So no one who's weighed more than 440lbs has been cremated before?

.... Yea, don't buy it.
How often do you find someone who weighs more than 400 lbs? (How the hell do people even GET that big? It's not like we live in a primitive world without access to treatments for morbid obesity.)

Also: This isn't a unique occurrence.
