I enjoy this show mostly because of the weaponry showcased from the combatants..the sciency parts bring it down somewhat but other than that it's a good show

SWEET. The show is total bullshit, but I love the premise.

Yakuza vs. Mafia pissed me right the hell off though.

Go Atilla! Hun his ass!

But I hate that show. It really sucks. They ignore major aspects such as the group/army tactics of many of the combatants and other tactics they use (such as they disregard that Ninja are trained and armed to be stealthy. They're not meant to battle, and their equipment is made so they can maybe kill one weak, lesser-armed person. They matched a Ninja against a Spartan soldier. Genius.)
Giant spaghetti monster forbid a less than ideal match up for one of the contestants,
actually, a one on one fight is perfect for a ninja, whose tactics base on creating openings in a single opponent, rendering size and strength largely useless,
as opposed to a spartan, who is trained to fight in a phalanx formation.

Actually, the ninja was pretty lucky in the match up, it's just the show is about FIGHTING while ninja's were thieves, spies, and assassins

They just announced the match up for fight NR 2 and it's the weirdest match-up yet...

SS wins, although the matchup is largely in favor of VC, because of the largely offensive nature of guerilla warfare, while the SS were human bullet proof vests turned secret police

If they did a pirates vs. ninja episode the only way for them to not have the wrath of the internet called down upon them would be to have both parties kick the crap out of the Geth.

On-topic: Alexander would kick the crap out of Atilla simply because there are more letters in his name.

I love this show and own the first season on Xbox Live. I'm going with Alexander because even though he's a watered down Spartan he's got Roman Military training over brute strength. I can't wait till April the 20th...I want it to start next Tuesday!

Nahh this show doesn't do it for me. I disagree with a lot of their stuff, and the often to forget to put the fighters own strengths (like size) into account. If they did the Maori would of just picked up the monk and broken him in half. Same with the Viking (but I guess the nerd rage that the samurai would of been massive).

I agree that the Viking should have won the fight against the Samurai if they'd done their research right, but the I doubt the Maori ever would have stood a chance against the Shaolin. They are simply too well trained and surprisingly strong.

They explained that in the aftermath. They wanted to test the Ninja's capabilities as a warrior and not an assassin and I'd say that he preformed rather well.

Wow, dead even split...

I have to go with Atilla, just becuase I don't think Alexander actually fought his battles. He was the general.

That is a stupid choice. Nobody even really knows what either of them looks like, so strength and spped are out. Let alone their own physical prowess and skill in battle. They are known for being commanders and strategists, not one on one combat.

Unless of course that is what the show is comparing. And if it is, then i'm gonna go with Atilla. They had better weapon technology and several centuries of warfare knowledge on the Ancient Macedonians, and they weilded weapons of iron, not brass or bronze.

this show is so funny, it's basically 2 guys who think they're warriors test out their weapons and every time the other guy's weapon obliterates a dummy the guy would say "a ninja would have dodged that' nu uh! You're stupid your not even a ninja! Are you kidding me of course I'm a ninja I know kung fu. I'm cooler than you. No I'm cooler. I just want to be loved. This show really is the one good thing on spilke.

I'd have to go with Attilla, because his fighting style would confuse the hell out of Alexander.
I love this show, it's great for lulz. My favourite episode has got to be one where they had one of their silliest matchups:
The IRA vs. the Taliban. As a person hailing from Ireland, I have to proclaim this one of the greatest pieces of television ever: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EHPdubG7AO0
The facts are hilariously wrong (the IRA have a flamethrower, for fuck's sake) and it's hard to believe how insane it is. My favourite part though, is that the fight takes place in an abandoned parking lot. WTF.

I'm happy there is a season 2, I just wish the people who filmed the part with the two warriors had any clue wtf they were doing. Seriously some of them are just out of left field or completely odd. Like the pirate shooting the knight in the face when they both fell down. Or like how in half the group fights the whole team is obliterated and the one remaining guy takes on the other team himself.
And it just irritates me when they bring in a weapon that has no killing power when the tests are clearly only measuring its lethal potential. Great you showed us the cool things these incapacitating weapons can do but you lost the VS part of that because the other weapon can do physical harm.
