All things Half-Life are 55.8% off because of that silly fanboy driven poll about the best character ever. Gordon won with 55.8% of the vote, so everyone gets a cheaper game now!

S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl is $5 this week.

I had no idea I was going to have as much to post here as frequently as I do. It is unreasonable to ask for a sticky on this thread? If it's going to be receiving information as it is, having it get buried under 20 "what's your favorite game" threads seems unfair to the people who would be interested in buying these games.

My Steam update news says it's now $3.75 until November 2nd. I know it's a damn good deal and all, but being able to give 75% off a game makes me dubious about its quality for some reason.

Could it be a regional thing? I most certainly have it at $5. I'm USA btw. Its Metascore is 82, which is better than Assassin's Creed at 79. AC is accepted as a good Triple-A title, so I doubt this is any different. I remember the reviews when it came out, and it sounded like a decent game. Nothing AMAZING, but decent. Any decent game is worth $5.

The Witcher is $20 for their mid-week sale. Not the most insane deal posted here, but anyone who doesn't own it might find this a nice alternative to retail. It's the Enhanced Director's cut, so apparently that's worth $40 normally.

I would assume that the low price is intended to drum up awareness of the franchise before the release of STALKER: Call of Pripryat.

The Witcher is the best RPG I've played since Knights of the Old Republic and is a steal at $20.

It's not spammy, I'd like to know about deals, there really SHOULD be a thread that's always active on this forum about deals to help out gamers who's short on cash.

Keep an eye out for TF2. I've missed two 2-hour sales on it that brought it down to $2.50. I'm sorry guys. It's in honor of Halloween, and Halloween isn't over, so there might be another one still. The Steam News update appeared at 5:11PM PST, and had the sale go to 7:00PM. That means there was no way to know it was coming up until AFTER it had started. The other sale was from 12pm-2pm the other day, and it is almost 10am here now. I suspect that there will be one this evening.

Call of Duty 4 is going for $24 right now. Not bad because I just bought a boxed copy off of Amazon for $35. I have no clue why this game is still going for as much as it is. The game came out two years ago.

I hate to be annoying and bump this, but there are 20 minutes remaining on this sale. If they do it again tomorrow, I'm probably going to miss it and not be able to tell everyone about it. I felt bad missing it the first 2 times.

HoI3 also just got its 1.3 patch---the game is massively improved over its 1.0 launch (like any Paradox game). If you're even remotely interested in Pdox's oeuvre, that's a steal.

(in other news, I heard they patched the install limit DRM out of Dawn of Discovery---if Steam does a deal on that, might be worth a buy.)

Crysis and Crysis: Warhead are $15 each

Overlord is 75% off. This brings the main game down to $1.50, and the whole collection to $8.75

Quantz is $5. It looks like a nice indie puzzle game that I think I'm going to try out. Handing $5 to an indie dev is something I've been trying to do lately if I can. I'm sure they will appreciate the sale more than I will appreciate the $5 for another purchase elsewhere.
