I would highly suggest checking it out.

Medieval 2: Total War is $5 for the mid-week sale. I think I'm grabbing this one this time. The gameplay footage looks pretty sweet, and I think I need a new RTS.

My advice: check out Direct2Drive's "21 days of Chrismas" special they're running right now.

24 hours for one game a day, slashed at least 50% off, sometimes more.

So far, I picked up Mirror's Edge for $5, Red Alert 3 + Uprising Expansion for $20, Prototype for $20, and Majesty 2 for $7.50

Just in case anyone gives a rat's ass, Pirates of the Burning Sea is $5. The problem is that it is a MMO, and therefore it's got a $15 per month charge on top of that. I wasn't planning on reporting it because your second month is going to quadruple your costs for the game, and the trailers didn't even make it look fun to me. I figure I may as well as report it for that one person that buys it and likes it.

On a side note: HOLY SHIT Plants Vs Zombies is AWESOME! I not letting it get its hooks into me so I'm only playing it for 15 minutes per day, but that doesn't make it any less good. It so simple and fun, and then the zombie humor is excellent too! The in-game help document written by the zombies telling you how to win the game is hilarious. They want you to lose, so they tell you that you can win the game by doing nothing and letting the zombies reach your door. I wonder how many people fell for it?

I can't believe I missed the Trackmania United Forever sale.

I was ranked #1 in NY on the ladder some time 8-9 months ago, too.

Counterstrike: Source is $5 for the weekend deal. I pretty much vowed to never play the game again, but alas, I bought it anyway...

I remember me trying to get everyone on all of my chat buddy lists to buy L4D when it was $7.49 on Steam. My sales pitch: "No excuse now brah."

Needless to say, I ruined some lives that day...and made others realize just how much better the game is on PC. >,>

Though I am usually "perma-logged" into Steam anyways, always checking for deals and what not, I totally support this thread and am definitely bookmarking it on my mobile.

Cheers.

The Last Remnant is $10 for the mid-week sale. I'm not sure if it's good, but it is a Square-Enix game, and it looks like some people love it while others aren't quite so happy.

Ok, there is a Steam Sale going on that is so epic, I don't know where to begin. I saw that some one made a thread about it, but I'm still dedicated to updating this one.

Just a few things that caught my attention, and I've bolded the ones that are IMO must-buys:
Killing Floor $10
Machinarium $10
Ghostbusters $6.80
Deus Ex $6.70
Titan's Quest Gold $10
Defense Grid: The Awakening $2.50
Super ID Pack $35 (OMG TOO MANY GOOD GAMES!)
Prince of Persia games $5 each for the old trilogy, or $22.50 for all 4
Beyond Good and Evil $5
Sacred Gold $5 I can't recommend this one enough. My first post in this thread was about it
Morrowind $15
Braid $2.50
Audiosurf $2.50
World of Goo $5
Torchlight $10
Rome Total War $2.50
Lucas Arts Adventure pack (Loom, Dig, Indiana Jones Last Crusade, Fate of Atlantis) $2.50

That's all I'm going to type up for now. There are some deals that expire in about 40 hours, and they will be refreshed with something else, so I'll update those when they come around. Seriously though, check this out your yourself. There is no way I can encompass all the deals this time.

Not bolding Rome at $2.50? If you haven't played the game yet you have absolutely no excuse!

Likewise, Fallout 3 + all the DLC is at $37.50 for those who haven't taken the plunge...and...well, look for yourself! I've got a few bucks in my holiday budget and damn if I won't spend 'em on Steam this week! Ho ho ho!

Edit: A catalog of must-buys (cents rounded off slightly):

- Rome: Total War $2.50
- Mount & Blade $14.50
- Morrowind + Oblivion + all DLC $33.75
- Empire: Total War $25.00
- Tropico Reloaded (Tropico 1 w/expansion + Tropico 2) $5.00
- Port Royale 2 $2.50 (one of my favorite games, runner-up for 2004 GotY)
- Hearts of Iron 2 Complete $12.50

Add 'em all up and you've got SimuLord's Completely Awesome Time-Wasters Collection for under a hundred bucks!

Looks like Braid is going for $5 this weekend. If you don't know about Braid, then you aren't a Yahtzee fan.
Meh, Yahtzee wasn't the first to advertise it.

Anywho, it's a great game, but there's hardly and ability to replay it.
Some would call it overpriced...I would call them cheap.

Sadly, I have not played Rome yet. Everyone says it's awesome, and I believe them, but learning a new RTS has always taken a backseat for me when I have so many games on my plate. I just spent $160 last night, and now have a total of 117 Steam games. Rome is hiding in there somewhere...

Left 4 Dead 2 $33.50
Serious Sam HD: The First Encounter $10
ID Super Pack$24 (Bolded because it's awesome and cheap. If you like old classic games, then there is little reason to not buy this. Just import the really old ones into Skulltag or Zdoom to improve the experience)
Football Manager 2010 $30
Need for Speed: Shift $37.50
