As you can see I'm new here so I dunnno if this has been a thread or not. But I'm just curious as to what you think will ACTUALLY happen then. My personal opinion is it will be a Y2K type event. A lot of hype and people freaking out buying apocalypse survival kits and what not only to find out....nothing happens.
I don't think anything will happen. My logic goes like this: If nothing does happen, hooray, I can rub it in peoples' faces. If I'm wrong, what does it matter? Everyone will be dead including me. Always best to take the defiant stance with apocalypse theories fairytales.

Welcome to the Escapist by the way, hope you like us :)

On December the 12th, 2012, the Mud people will rise up out of the ground, in preparation for the final apocalyptic battle against the Space Spiders... from Outer Space. These two sides will belt the piss out of eachother in a titanic battle that will rage across all the continents and oceans of Earth, with little regard for whatever happens to be in the battle zone. The pathetic armies of humans will try and fight off both sides, but their weapons will be absorbed by the Mud People and deflected by the chitinous hides of the Space Spiders. Eventually, after most of us are wiped out in the crossfire, the Space Spiders will drain all water molocules off the planet, turning the Mud People into dry mineral husks, but also doing the same to us. Earth will become a scarred, barren waste of a planet, which will remain that way, until the Andronites come looking for planets to exploit for their mineral wealth. They'll suck out the last few deposits of minerals, then mark the strange little planet that once contained civilisation as an archeological curiosity, then move on, leaving this corner of space void of life, forever.

Welcome! Welcome to Escapistmagazine.com! You have chosen, or been chosen, to relocate to one of our finest remaining Internet Utopias. I thought so much of Escapistmagazine.com, that I elected to establish my administration, here, in the Forums, so thoughtfully provided by our Moderators. I am proud to call Escapistmagazine.com my home. And so, whether you are here to stay, or passing through to parts unknown, welcome, to Escapistmagazine.com. It's safer here.

Now that that's out of the way, it'll be like Y2K all over again. But this time there may or may not be the chance of quantum zombies.
Hello, slightly altered HL2 opening. On topic, the same that happens any other day. Maybe a bit of panic because some fuck skulls actually believe that "the end of the world as we know it" will happen on that day.

I think that's the day we're screwed because we observed dark matter. No seriously, you can destroy the universe by observing dark matter.

I suggest if you ever suspect dark matter being around the corner, plug your ears, close your eyes and scream "I CAN'T HEAR YOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!!!!".

This is the best defense against this threat. And on the plus side, it'll entertain me while you're doing it.

I'll sell a lot of booze to people who think it will end, then go home and watch The Return of the King.

I like owning a bar.

Obviously nothing will happen because the Mayan calender was off by about 400 years because the world of the Mayans ended about then, so essentially the end of the world came 400 years early for that prophecy
