In short: there is no 'end of days' prophecies by the Mayans. Good indication there won't be a end of the world on that date.

People will freak out so much over this whole thing because they believe God will rain hellish judgment upon us and sell all of their stocks to get money to take that Asian Vacation or to buy that new car, among other things because you only live once and we all DIE next month or what-the-fuck-ever. This will crash the stock market, a la the Great Depression of the twenties, and Bam! Ignorant people CAUSED the big event and blame it on God and our sins. I've already starting stocking up for fuck's sake, because I firmly believe in the stupidity of humanity.
