My brother played the demo for Valkyria Chronicles, and decided to buy the game. After he did so, I gave him the lecture on JRPGs, AND the lecture for not buying a game based on the demo. He played it until 11:00 PM and retired for the night. I decided to give it a chance.......and i was still playing it at 8 AM on the couch. Not the SHINING moment in my "JRPG REJECTION" phase.....

I like that demo but I wouldn't buy the full game cos I imagine it to be more of the exact same, only with character customisation.

inFamous did the opposite. Actually the demo made me not want to play the game at all.
I later bought it really cheap and discovered the demo was a skippable annoying little side mission that was a really inaccurate portrayal of the game. I loved inFamous.
I loved the demo, only problem was when you died you were forced into the next mission, when all I wanted to do was free roam, which was always cut short by death or the timer...
I will buy that game as soon as I get paid for my new job...

OT:My brother bought Mercenaries for PS2 after playing the demo, which I also would have done had he not, Loco Roco 2 for PSP, Burnout 3 for PS2, Metal Gear Solid Portable Ops(even though that was only a Video Demo),I really wanted to get Dark Cloud but I never found it, And I have bought a good few Sequels after getting a lend of the first one from friends... (which is kinda like a demo)
DO NOT buy Dark Cloud, or Dark Chronicles. You'll pay a fortune for... well, 2 games that just aren't that good, honestly.
Your weapon breaks very easily (though you can constantly repair it, upgrade it and combine weapons, but woopty doo). The game is possibly the most grindiest rpg I've ever played.

You literally go through levels of a dungeon, collecting weapons and items, trying to survive just barely, before you fight a final boss.
Then guess what? a bit more of the story (which isn't very good) is revealed, then you go to another dungeon with guess what? More items and weapons, as well as double the levels of the last dungeon, and an even harder boss.
It's just boring.

I finished up to the Pirate ship dungeon and said to myself "fuck this" turned it off, deleted my save file and haven't gone back to it since.
And the sequel Dark Chronicle? Literally more of the same, apart from this little robot suit thing you get later on in the game. I like level 5 as developers, but I think those two games were some of their worst.

Admission suggests shame. I'm not even remotely ashamed of such things. Thats is exactly what demos of any kind are for.
Let's see:
BatMan: Arkham Asylum
Final Fantasy XII
Final Fantasy 8
Bushido Blade (or was that a rental? I forgot.)
Bayonetta (well, it convinced me to pre-order)
Tomb Raider
Bloody Roar

Yes, I go for demos a lot more than rosy reviews or hype, especially the well done ones.

Batman: Arkham Asylum. In fact, after playing the demo at Fry's, it made me buy an Xbox 360 so I could play the game.

I can't remember the titles now but most of the PS1 games I bought were based off demos I played.

I played a GRAW 2 demo at EB games once. I bought it then and there. The actual game was alright, but the appeal wore out fast.

Bayonetta.

Played the demo last time, and now I'm going to reserve a copy today. I'm a sucker for the Devil May Cry formula of ass-kickery, so that plus more awesome fighting has sold me. I'll probably get really frustrated with it and not finish it like I did Devil May Cry 3, buuut... at least it'll be awesome while it lasts :D

The Dishwasher: Dead Samurai (Was fun. Not regrettable)
YES for The Dishwasher. I did the same, too, now that I realize it xD played the demo and bought the game in the same day. Second game I ever bought on the XBLA! :D
And you get to look at the BEWBZ, so thats a plus too.

Seriously though that game makes us look like perverted freaks and for this I will not buy it.
