My thoughts exactly. I don't care he's old, or if he's had a stroke. That is not how you pronounce the damn word!
*sends horde of ravenous Badger-bats to eat the old guy*
Aahhhh...problem solved.

My god, where the Deuce did you get badger-bats?
I made em, just for special occasions like this. Would you like a crate? Last time I tried sending them, Fed-Ex had a fit. I think I can try using UPS this time, though.

Hi all, just thought i'd depress you all with a rant about diabetes.

I have type 1 diabetes.

Type 1 Diabetes is when your pancreas stops producing a chemical called Insulin, which controls the blood sugar in your body, So thus you have to inject and check yourself quite a few times a day, because if you don't can lead to a Coma, or even worse... :S

I've had diabetes since i was 3, which means i've had it for a looooong time, and it does get Really.Really.Really annoying.

Take last night for example

I was staying at a friends house for tea and stuff, and before it was time to eat, i thought i'd better do my injection stuff, and then realised, i'd left it at home, which then resulted in me running home, grabbing it, running back, and by the time i was back, it was cold and i was getting dirty looks from everyone, including the dog.

ARGH.

Anyone else out there like me? or knows someone like me? or knows someone who sold a dog to someone like me? xD
For some odd reason your avater seems as though it's having some sort of Diabetic attack not trying to be offensive it just remind me of watching someone go through one

Okay, it'll probably take about a week to get there, it'll probably smell pretty bad (I do need to put in a hunk of meat to feed them on the trip), and I highly advise you let them out slowly. And at about 7pm, so it's dark enough that they don't freak, but you can still see them easily enough. And if any neighborhood kids go missing, play innocent!

Why pity? The guy is set up so he can pretty much deal with anything that comes his way. Maybe a twisted view of his situation, but think about it. Compared to what he has to deal with on a daily basis, just about any kind of extra complication probably seems mild.

Spot on! As others said before it can get me out of doing loads of things.
I do appreciate the pity though ;)

Hooray for using chronic diseases to your advantage! Heh. I loved that Scrubs episode where Turk gets type II.

Diabetes scares me. It's actually the #1 reason I started working out. I couldn't imagine having to regulate my life so harshly. Though the diabetes you get from being obese isn't the same kind you're talking about.

My neighbour has like the most hardcore of hardcore diabetes. He has to give himself like 10 tests per day. He was born with it, too.

I feel for you, my friends. I hope they come up with a cure for it soon.

Ditto. I also hope that when they do find a cure, that the major diabetes supply companies and whatnot don't try to withhold or delay it to save themselves.

My grandad had diabetes but there was little i knew about it at the time, apparently it runs rife on my Dad's side so i guess im one of the lucky ones. I think my other grandad may have died from it but i dont know much about him either - died when he was 50, so i was either not born or very young, his son turned 50 a little while back so its awkward to talk about..

Also, a good friend of mine has type 2 but he doesnt tell anyone, its weakness to him, he thinks hes alone and should be ashamed - i tried to convince him otherwise but it didnt really help.. I only found out because while out drinking with him it kicked in bad, he couldnt walk and was thrashing around and losing consiousness, exteme pains in his legs.. horrifying. Things got better though after about half a bag of sugar, managed to basically carry him back to mine, he refused an ambulance, probably the 'weakness' thing again..

Anyone else had a simmilar experience?
