ya know, i dont find it that hard to deal with, granted im not having to take shots and such, but periodic tests and simply watching what you stuff into your gut isnt all THAT hard. especialy in my case, my diet was horrible i was taking in about 4000 calories a day in sugar from soda, a switch to diet soda i credit with a huge difference in numbers alone.
there was one other factor that may (or may not) hve had to do with this but it seems certian medications can effect your sugar levels. in fact there is a medication im on called seroquil (no im not crazy my doc used it as a sleap aid for me) that is linked to serious diabetic risk. i was on this med for 5 or 6 years before i became diabetic. as in i was still taking the meds last summer.

i just linked that sight because it was top of the google search on it. if your taking medications such as this and have suddenmy become diabetic its worth checking into. my shrink that proscribed seroquil was actualy the one to tell me about this when he found out i was diabetic. seems its actualy a pretty big deal and was a true case of the drug company that makes it trying to actualy cover up this side effect. in other words they knew this drug would fuck people up and tryed to hide it on purpose.
and from waht i know it wasnt just a case of 'the data wasnt clear' but a case of its totaly certian that this drug can cause lots of problems but they tryed too hide the results from the FDA.
now im generaly not the kind of person to blame others for my troubles, i was over weight for most of my life and my diet was horrible, plus i have a family history of diabetes so im not actualy inclined to jump on the 'lets sue the fuckers' bandwaggon, i only post this now because there may be some people who WERENT at risk through their normal living situation that were a victim of this kind of thing.
and one last thing, i would encourage you to talk with your doctor about what meds your taking and what effect if any they may have on your dibetic situation. turns out there is a fair number of common meds that effect your blood sugar levels, and given my lack of faith in the medical system generaly it never hurts to take an active part all on your own and dont just assume that your doctor knows everything about everything.
your a 20 minuts TOPS medical visit in an otherwise busy day for them, but its YOUR life we are talking about here. when they go home at the end of the day THEY arent the ones that have to deal with the results if they are wrong, YOU are.
and rember, THEY work for YOU, not the other way around as it can some times seem.
