D'you ever get headaches afterward?

I used to get similar symptoms when I was a kid, only the visual effects. I always thought of it as an annoying thing that I'd have to ignore to make it go away, like hiccups. I'd often get a bad headache afterward, tho. Or, instead of the size distortion thing, I'd get a jagged, sparkly thing in my vision, and then a bad headache.

Migraines, I'm told. It doesn't happen very often anymore, tho, thank goodness. Mostly when I was a kid, and in my early 20s.

Do you have an inexplicable desire to hunt down and kill animals to prove your {alien?}hood?

Actually, it sounds a LOT like a manic high to me (the opposite of a depressive low in bipolar disorder). I'm studying it in classes right now, I think that's it although idk why it would be triggered so infrequently.

Well, I DO have a medical degree, and I'm a psychiatrist, so...

Well, for starters, most you seem to be experiencing ilusions, that happens when your mind change some thing about the things you perceive with your senses (as opposed to an hallucination, wich is the creation of a brand new sensation, from thin air). But anyway, the sound thing MIGH be tinnitus, like someone said, or hallucination. But the chance for schizophrenia, right now, seems low. I would guess it's something organic (I mean, something very physical affeecting your brain, wich could be a tumor, but also the effect of some drug or poison or maybe convulsions, wich is a good bet, actually, because it seems to be cronic, you haven't died yet-I hope- and it comes and goes.).

So my suggestion: go to a neurologyst first. It may be a simple thing, and fully treatable, if you do it right.

Hope that helps, and I would love to hear from you again.

Are rampant spelling errors also a side effect? Sorry, but in all seriousness, that's weird, see a doctor.

It's lupus.
Remember the episode when
it actually was Lupus?
What a shock that was!
I know, I love how he just came out and blatantly said "I finally have a case of Lupus" with no warning. It took a second, but I went, "hey it is lupus! Awesome!"

Every now and again it feels and looks like everything is shaking, sometimes only slightly, sometimes it's quite... Violent, I guess? Only once has this made me hold on to something for balance, it happened for about 10-15 seconds and it scared the hell out of me.

Usually everything starts to shake and it passes after 5-10 seconds and doesn't get too bad. But I have no idea what the hell it could be.

Also, sometimes I can see things in the "air", like little particles, I don't know whether I can actually see them, or whether its just my eyes being fucked up. I have, I believe, excellent vision and nothing is blurred to me. (I can also see the heat coming from radiators, is that normal?)
that sounds like something called an aura, which can precede a migraine or a seizure, that sounds like what happens to me before i go into a seizure, it will happen very frequently without an actual seizure also. Actually OP sounds like it could be that also. could be any number of things however

Sounds like your a migrane sufferer, welcome to the club ;-)

Migranes tend to be caused by very small blood vessels (capilaries) in the brain swelling or bursting. The 'ringing in your head' is prety common, as is the distortion of other senses.

Id definately recomend talking to your doctor about this tho.

If you dont mind me asking how old are you and when did this start - most migrane sufferers only have them during puberty, whereas others get the onset at adulthood but didnt suffer any issues while they were younger. For other people the nature of the condition can change.

If it is just migranes (and i say JUST lightly..) then theres not realy much you can do, there are some drugs that can help - see your doctor for them. theres also the chance that it could be something more serious tho but from the information you have provided i wouldnt like to hazard a guess - again id say go see your doctor.

Most migranes hurt like hell(like an angry dwarf in your head trying to beat its way out) so if the symptoms you describe are all your getting then thank your self lucky but be aware the nature of the symptoms and the frequency and severity may change as you age.

Sounds to me like a Panic attack mixed with adrenaline rush, perhaps the Panic attack activates a dormant personal system of adrenaline? The human body is a strange but wonderful thing, plus the brain is amazing.

Either that or your the guy from Wanted.

I have no idea.

I do advise just enjoying it though, I totally love it when I have those little star things all up in my vision or when my vision totally fades to white, I feel really weak and need to lie down. I enjoy most weird bodily experiences though, that might just be me.

Basically just enjoy it and know it's not going to last forever and will go away. If you start sketching out just keep telling yourself you are fine and this is temporary. That's calmed me down a few times when I've needed it.
